A very pleasant night 🥂This is the must have item - hamachi Perfect combination!! Very photogenic, uni is good,But I would say it looks better than its taste. It’s Average, I’d suggest you to pick something else on the menu. Dessert is Bomb💣Sooooooo delicious!! Very good pick for chocoholic!! You would definitely love this!!!!

The environment is for your chitchat more than spacious chill as no window.

Ordered the brunch with free flow. It comes with pastries, salmon and hams, then main courses with dessert and coffee or tea. Pastries re crunchy from MO bakery shop, the salmon is from Tasmania (which made me miss Oz) . First yummy!

Urchin french toast is individually good - fresh urchin and egg aroma french toast but urchin taste over french toast in one bite


The main course re pork belly and fresh truffle pasta . Both re tasty and the pork belly is not oily as imagined. Give a mark!

The last is dessert - see the photos . Yummy from the screen

Okay - why not mention about free flow. Aww... I love wine tasting and tried most. Overall , 2 re impressive - mulled wine and champagne. Mulled wine is a must try item in Christmas but they gave me one cup only . Champagne for me is a bit pale but with fine bubbles. I believe MO considered the balance of taste buds on oil and wine. It’s more acidity to reduce the oily of food or much dishes.

Anyway, it’s good trial!

First comes with an enticing looking sharing bread box, WOW 🤩, I am literally in a brunch heaven! The bread box features classic flaky croissant, their signature double chocolate layered brioche (indulgent!) and sourdough, served with their housemade hazelnut chocolate spread (it’s richer in hazelnut and tastier version of nutella!), housemade jam that is absolutely delicious! There’s just not enough bread for all the amazing spread and jam! 😆

The ham and cheese is a perfect pairing for the wine, and the house smoked Tasmanian salmon served with some capers and pickles is on point. This starter sharing platter is so fulfilling, putting a big smile on my face (and some weight on my tummy 🙈) but it’s just the beginning!😆

Brunch should feel relaxed, chatting with friends while enjoying the food, here they serve the food at just the right pace, make sure we’re comfortable before moving on to the main 😊 Their warming hospitality is commendable.

To be honest, I didn’t expect the portion to be this generous at a hotel restaurant, it’s huge! The pork belly is slow braised till completely tender, glazed with BBQ sauce, the fat and tender meat simply melt in the mouth. The braised cabbage on the side is so soft and super flavorful. The side cold cabbage salad is not to be neglected! It’s fresh crunchy and served in a flavored aromatic dressing that is so addictively scrumptious.

A brunch just wouldn’t be right without egg benedict. Classic poached egg on English muffin with a Hollandaise sauce, yet they added generous amount of black truffle and also a crispy Belotta ham that just bring the dish to a whole new deluxe experience! (side note: we can often choose the doneness of steak, but to be asked the desired doneness of the egg is a first!😆)

And then desserts are just as remarkable. OMG the signature chocolate soufflé is incredibly rich in dark chocolate flavor, light airy soufflé that is divine! Served with a cacao sorbet that has a subtle chocolate bitter flavor that balances well with the soufflé.

Added extra for their signature Uni French toast, quite an expensive bite but it’s a worthy one. Uni sitting on a caramelized brioche toast where the soft spongy brioche takes on the melty uni and its fresh umami sweetness, all melding together in the mouth, sooo good!

The is also a selection of starters, a main and a dessert per person. The bread basket included sourdough, crossaint and chocolate pastry with their homemade Nutella and a couple of fruit jams. The bread was ok but nothing special, and in fact we were slightly disaappointed that the sourdough came barely lukewarm. The cold cuts, cheeses and smoked salmon were all just fine. For mains we chose the eggs benedict and pork belly. The poached eggs were a major disappointment as they were overcooked so that the yolks were 80% solid and not runny at all. The pork belly was better, and really quite nice but still nothing spectacular and not enough to compensate for the disappointmemt from the failed eggs benedict. For desserts we opted for vanilla millefeuille and banana pancakes. Their millefeuille is one of the best in HK and I'm glad they have maintained quality in that regard. The banana pancakes were ok and I liked the toasted pecans. As for the drinks, the sommelier claimed that the champagne used was a very rare one that couldn't be found anywhere else in HK. I'm no wine expert so I won't really comment on its quality except to say that the bubbling was a little weak. The Chardonnay-based cocktail was very mild and tasted more like a soft drink if I were to be honest. I was excited to try the brunch and am glad to have checked it out but will probably not return until they change the menu or perhaps only for lunch/dinner as I feel that they are somewhat better with their regular meal dishes.

SOMM is one of my favourite restaurants. The food I had, from starters to desserts, were so delicious. Staff was also attentive and familiar with the menu. The oysters were fresh and big; pork belly had well-distributed fat so it was tender but not too greasy; tenderloin was very tender and well-grilled. Very nice restaurant! The service was good. Staff was well-trained. They knew the food menu well and provided top-rated services! Food was great and the portion was generous! I really like the cheese platter and the pastry for brunch. At the end, the staff also escorted out of the restaurant which was out of my expectation. SOMM did service 5star service from a 5 star hotel.

Out of all the 4, I preferred the sake the most, being the most smooth.Due to the pandemic, the restaurant's menu is in digital formula by scanning their QR code.
Initially the champagne was my least favorite as it was a bit too strong. However, upon the first course, after tasting it again with the Hamachi in vinegar, the flavors totally changed and became much better. Without the champagne, the vinegar in this dish would have been a bit strong too but the pairing with the champagne(despite this isn't a wine pairing dinner) totally solved this issue.

My friend tried the pork belly. The dish was so fragrant that even I can smell it. Despite the pork belly was seasoned well, my friend felt that the cabbage was the star, being sweet and juicy.

The chocolate souffle finally came and it was amazing. It was airy like a souffle should be yet dense with its chocolate flavors. What sets it apart is the molten chocolate inside where so far I haven't seen any other restaurant being able to execute. Just this dessert alone will be the reason that I will come again.

去到甜品環節點可以錯過佢地招牌既Albinao 85% chocolate souffle⁉️😻 梳乎厘口感極為輕盈濕潤 面層係薄薄既chocolate ganache 入面同樣藏住朱古力醬 所以朱古力味非常香濃 夾一口旁邊既朱古力sorbet一齊食 香濃程度更係更上一層樓!而且甜度不會太高 所以感覺唔都會好甜膩👍🏼 稱之為全港第一朱古力梳乎厘絕對不為過!

這一餐,我約咗好耐冇見嘅好友,所以特別揀咗呢間以「全包式侍酒師午餐」為主題的餐廳,也是在 推出的 #masterchef edition,以HK$788 (另有加一服務費)一位食3道菜,2杯香檳/白酒/紅酒/日本清酒 (由侍酒師精心挑選的),及無限量供應有氣或冇氣嘅支裝水。餐廳室內装潢出自紐約設計師Adam D. 朋友也是同樣點豬腩肉,但揀咗配紅酒,是有比白酒好飲喔。

先講個士多啤梨撻,切得又薄又長的一件撻 (怎樣可以切到咁🙀,面頭全是加了糖霜的士多啤梨,底層是餅皮撻底,味道不錯。
.雲呢拿雪糕伴野莓果醬,我沒有食,不過我朋友怕酸,所以佢話個野莓果醬好酸,一定要與甜嘅雲呢拿雪糕一齊食。

原本入座時,店員話我哋1.5小時後要交枱,但可能因為店內也沒有坐滿食客,所以就有得我哋慢慢食、慢慢嘆酒、慢慢傾偈,食咗3小時左右先離開餐廳😁

Taking the Dining City Master Chef Edition lunch deal, my friend and I tried out SOMM on a Saturday afternoon.We got two bar table seats, which was quite nice. The only complain was hearing all the swearing of the manager when he was talking to a staff about daily logistics. Such a shame.The 3-course lunch set, which costs HKD$788, comes with two alcoholic drinks. For starter, I chose this Grass Fed Polmard Heritage Beef Tartare with Shishito Pepper, Shiso & Sourdough Shavings. The portion of beef tartare was much more than expected, and it was very delicious. What’s special about this beef tartare was the sourdough shavings, they were so crunchy and yummy to eat with the beef tartare, making the tartare less stuffing to finish. A surprisingly filling starter.

Main was this Japanese Pork Belly with BBQ Sauce and Hakata Cabbage. The Hakata cabbage definitely stole the fame. It was so nicely grilled and seasoned that it’s very juicy to eat! Super enjoyable, and perfect to balance off any greasiness from the pork belly. The pork belly itself was fair, the fatty part almost felt like melting on my tongue, and the tender pork meat was tasty.

I picked Apricot & Lemon Verbena Mille-Feuille for dessert. The mille-feuille was a bit disappointing as it was too flakey and loosely held, so it fell apart when I put a fork onto it. The citrus was a bit too sour for my like.

I expected something more and better than this, so I was slightly disappointed when I left.

今日揀咗SOMM晚餐.先講環境,坐得舒服,氣氛好好👍🏻服務態度,難得高質素,的確好好👍🏻食品方便,唔差.但係驚喜不是太大.整體來講,比較欣賞樓面服務態度.絕對會回頭
