The starter at M.O. weekend brunch is always impressive! I really love the Duck Rillettes with Foie Gras & Buckwheat Cracker. 🦆It was rich in foie gras yet light and in jelly texture. 🤤If you prefer strong flavour, you can even add the 36 Months Matured Paleta de Bellota Iberico on top.

The pastry is also so yum. As a tea fan, the Earl Grey Brioche Feuilleté is so irresistible! 😱😍😍The sourdough also goes well with the jam.🍇🥯

On the other hand, I personally think the winter truffle is not a well balance with the scallop tartare since it is unable to elevate the scallop’s sweetness.

I picked the fish Medai grilled on on the Binchotan. 🐟It is fermented with peppers, which gives an interesting fusion taste of Sichuan fish! 🌶The fish is fresh but the sauce and the onion is slightly too plain.🧅

Dessert
Many people praised their Chocolate Soufflé with Cacao Sorbet but well, it did not really surprise me. 🍩It is satisfying and with melty chocolate but I think the Soufflé will go better with a lighter flavour sorbet like vanilla. 🥛

Alcohol
How can you leave the free flow behind! Their champagne is really tasty! 🍾🍺🍷🍸🥃Much better than the commercial brand Moet. The apple flavoured cocktail is also nice🍏 Don’t miss the tea before you leave

Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Had their 5-course menu which came with a prawn taco, scallops, fish fillet, beef char siu, foie gras tart and their signature soufflé.My favourite were the prawn taco (super fresh and tasty), beef char siu (very tender and I love how it was a little crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside) and foie gras tart (yummy but a little heavy, girls don’t be able to eat more than a slide). I’m not a big fan of dessert but their signature soufflé was grea

My favourite were the prawn taco (super fresh and tasty), beef char siu (very tender and I love how it was a little crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside) and foie gras tart (yummy but a little heavy, girls don’t be able to eat more than a slide).

I’m not a big fan of dessert but their signature soufflé was great too, of course. Not to mention their amazing service. The manager was very attentive and nice to chat with.

Will come back next time to try their brunch 🥰

有幸被邀出席紅酒活動, 嚟到 SOMM 參加 紅酒介紹加 food pairing , 完完全全感受到果份功力係何其深厚~ 松葉蟹配蕃茄 - 松葉蟹新鮮到極,夾埋兩種唔同嘅蕃茄,再飲一啖紐西蘭白酒,錯中複雜嘅味覺衝擊 鵝肝芭菲,朱古力 配 海鹽餅底 - 另一個完全衝擊味蕾嘅菜式,可以同時間食到甜、鮮、咸 各自非常突出但係又唔會 搶其他味道嘅鋒頭。 博多椰菜配燒豬腩肉串燒 - 豬嘅油份 配合 椰菜嘅清爽, 食落唔會覺得好油, 兩種唔同嘅咬口形成強烈對比牛肋肉「叉燒」,之後喺story 剩係 post 相好多朋友都估唔到佢係豬定牛,叉燒嘅濃邊同口感, 牛肉嘅味道同質感,配返個美國紅酒,非常正嘅享受。 最後一度以法國紅酒加芝士 作結, 三種完全唔同風格嘅芝士,令每一口紅酒都有唔同嘅變化, 大開眼界非常之好食嘅一餐, 好西好酒, 完全係會「緃壞味覺」

✏️Interesting Italian blend, from North (Piemonte) to South (Puglia), well mixing of the floral, berries and spices, and make foie gras more flavourful. Of course, sea salty tart, chocolate and jelly on top (Pedro Ximénez) also help a lot.Appreciated SOMM served the tart with cloth, easier to cut the tart and less messy!

MO never disappoints me🥰the portion of starts is a bit too much i love bread n pastry so much🍞🥖so im perfectly find with that haha chasiu was tender and medai was juicy too

日本靜岡蕃茄做底,放上蟹肉,再加蟹湯做成既啫喱碎係面。試左個啫喱碎先,好香濃蟹湯味🤤蕃茄,蟹肉,啫喱碎三樣再一齊入口,🤤🤤🤤

支白酒就清香既,有熱帶果香,花香,白果香,飲落清新,西柚,檸檬,草青,少少礦物,餐前飲or配餐前小食都幾好

食左飲一飲白酒,降低左個酸度,果味少少岀返;飲完再食就有提升少少蟹味。

BBQ牛肉叉燒,未食都聞到好香燒牛肉,個肉邊少少香脆,肉夠軟身,配少少醬汁加重味道已經一流

支California red wine就黑果味重d,濃郁既,飲到d 朱古力味咁;而支Washington red wine 就係blueberry,可可,紫羅蘭香。

呢兩支同個牛叉燒係夾既,個醬汁係會令個酒好飲左,soft左。

It has been a while since I last came to SOMM. This time around I came specifically for the return of their roasted Ping Yuen Chicken with girolles, pickled onion,

I was told that it is one of the best chicken dishes and I will be missing out if I don’t give it a try during their summer menu.

Putting the strong recommendation aside, the dish actually delivered. Great thoughts have been put into the dish to include two parts of the chicken in one dish. The breast was juicy with the crispy skin. The thigh rolls were very succulent. Great skills and precision in the execution of the two parts. The liver sauce was amazing. It might be a tad salty but it was good for me to pair with wine.

Then comes the huge surprise of the sweet pea tart. I am normally not a pea person but this tart is super yummy. Buttery tartlet with the sweet pea mouse and sweet pea texture, perfection in a bite ❤️

I liked their BBQ beef “Charsiu”. Much more balanced than the one from WING.

Always went for their chocolate soufflé. This time tried their profiteroles with cacao nib ice cream & chocolate sauce. It was a guilty pleasure.

It’s always pleasant to be back at SOMM.

Price: HK$600-1000 pp (dinner)

Revisit: 10/10

Stayed at Landmark Oriental and ordered a mains from SOMM. 🥂🥃🍾☕️飲品方面,sake最值得一提,少少米味,入口好滑好易入口。除左yuzi cocktail 之後其他都係MAMA地,而紅白酒都係算易入口,champagne既花香果香濃都好好飲!重有就係佢杯咖啡,除左present得好有型之外,都好好飲,最後係醉住離埸,哈哈哈。

I went to Somm for the restaurant week dinner menu and it was so good! They have a large selection of wine, and the food was not only plated very nicely, but all the flavors complemented each ingredient of the dish. Its more casual than a fine dining restaurant, but the food was definitely equivalent to one!

📍SOMMBack to try SOMM kind of brunch 3.0. I like that they do change up their menu every now and then so you won’t get bored coming back once in a while. But I am afraid that I like the earlier versions than this 3.0. I’ll just focus on the new items. Back to try SOMM kind of brunch 3.0. I like that they do change up their menu every now and then so you won’t get bored coming back once in a while. But I am afraid that I like the earlier versions than this 3.0.

I’ll just focus on the new items. The freshly shucked Christophe Gaboriau “Spéciale De Claire” Oyster is crunchy and not too salty.

Cured Shima Aji with Green Tomatoes, Aloe Vera & Horseradish was refreshing.

The Beef Carpaccio with “Bearnaise Emulsion” & Aged Parmesan Reggiano was a bit over seasoned. Can’t taste anything else except the Parmesan.

The Smoked Pike Roe & Alaskan King Crab Egg Mimosa was cute and refreshing.

Overall, there are too much raw items in the starters.

Then come the mains, we opted for their Boston Lobster BBQ on the Binchotan with Kohlrabi & Shiso Sabayon. I am afraid the lobster is so dry and rubbery. Not my dish.

Ocean Trout with Kabu, Trout Roe, Bottarga & Junmai Sake Beurre Blanc was nice but the sauce is a bit too vinegary for my taste.

BBQ Beef Short Rib “Charsiu” with Broccolini, Celtuce was actually the best. SOMM’s beef char siu is actually much better than WING’s as it’s not too oily and it is very soft.

The desserts are as usual, the chocolate soufflé is still the best.

Overall, still a good brunch option but I think I will wait till the next menu to return.

Price: HK$1000 pp (brunch with add on)

Revisit: 7/10 (for this menu)
