Very bad and broke the record of asking the customers to finish the dinner within 1 hour. I can't believe it happened in the restaurant in soho area. The manger told us their serve very fast so you gonna have enough time to be finished it. What's kind of the logic putting on if I'm going out on Friday nite with a good friend for a nice dinner? There wasn't a queue neither! This is totally ridiculous! Unless you do fast food for lunch only! Bad indeed!

we started off with the fried cheese, what is called haloumi, which I'm sure everyone here agrees is delicious. Cheese with honey is not something I would normally think to use, but if you fry it together it really is very very good. we had another starter, though I didn't particularly care for it so much. the main dishes were Za'atar fried chicken, Sole fillet, Grilled zucchini, all of which were quite good, though next I would prefer skipping the zucchini Kama since I'm not really a vegetarian, and there's not that much special about it. the chicken, while quite tasty, could have been a little bit more succulent. The fish didn't stand out, but it was still good.

This is my first time to taste the lebanese cuisine, I can't tell whether it is authentic, it just tastes good.A handmade bread, the top one is very crispy, the bottom one just like what it is. A plain bread, I recommended to serve with dressing.A mince lamb cake with chickpeas, the dressing is very delicious, tastes like hummus but not exactly the same, and you may consider to serve with pita bread.This Haloumi is pan-fried for one side and served with honey and date. This Haloumi is pan-fried for one side and served with honey and date. I am not a fans of cheese but I like it as it doesn't taste like cheese, not so rich and full. Just very yummy, my friend finished all the dressing with pita bread.

I absolutely adore Middle Eastern food. It has to be up there on my top three favourite cuisines. So when I found out that the old Life Cafe has been taken over by a Lebanese restaurant, I couldn't wait to try it. This is actually my second time eating at this place - I don't know why I do it more often, honestly (it may be due to the fact that I work in Kowloon...)

Hong Kong definitely has a scarcity of Middle Eastern cuisine. I was gutted when Cafe Habibi - my go to lunch place - closed down a couple of years ago, leaving a vacuum for mid-range desert fare.

I'm surprised there are so few reviews on this place, and that the ratings aren't higher. I thought it was excellent! And I don't think my standards are low when it comes to food; after all, I used to be a food writer.

My only problem with this place is probably the layout. It's a bit confusing, especially getting up to the top floor / terrace. I've been there over three times and even when it used to be Life Cafe, they should at least put some kind of signage to orient people.

I love Islamic architecture with their high ceilings and ornate windows, so I really loved how they updated the place. Everything was very colorful, reminds me of the 1970s / retro somewhow, but with that near east flair.

The restaurant doesn't close in between lunch and dinner, which was when we came, so appreciate that you can just drop by anytime during the day. Thumbs up for the all-day dining awesomeness

Seriously good Za’atar Fried Chicken. Servings were actually generous for this free range baby chicken, not oily at all, SUPER JUICY - yum!

I also tried the salads / vegetable dishes last time I went - very flavourful and healthy. Thumbs up on those.

Would I go back?
Most definitely. And I would recommend it to anyone.

This was my first time to this place and it will be my last. I ordered a lamb meal and ask the waiter if it came with rice or bread etc. He mentioned on the lines of bread so I said fine. When my meal came, I asked where is the bread; he replied it was coming . I waited for over 5 minutes and then asked another waiter about my bread and whether it was included. He said he will ask, but I waited for another 5 minutes and still no bread. I asked to speak to the manager and told him where is my br

He said he will get the bread for me. So it seems the bread was not included and my meal was cold, hence why I had to wait so I think there was a communication problem which should not have happened and the waiter should have checked with me and made it more clearer in the first place, and I did ask these two waiters the same question. In the end I refused to pay for my meal.
My wife had her aubergine and admitted it tasted very nice indeed
At the end of they lost two customers including my wife.

I have been here twice because I love the rice.Sadly, the menu has changed and there are fewer options for sauces.On the old menu, you could choose pomegranate labnah, hummus, pickles, baba ganoush and Zhoug labnah.Now there are only four choices (step 3). Thankfully the prices are still the same.I settled for the Haloumi with rice and chose the cucumber labnah.The taste is still as good and the rice was still nice but the choices have gone down.

。只好再灑上青檸蓋住雪味, 伴碟的亦有乳酪,沾著吃會減少熱氣。

Pita bread相信都是現做的, 但沒有甚麼特別之處.  店子最下層是專做外賣, 他們應該是附近很受歡迎的店, 只見侍應們一直埋頭在包外賣. 

我覺得此店價錢十分合理.  2杯紅酒, 一支sparkling water, 一份Pita bread, 一份焗椰菜花以及一份炸雞; 盛惠$570.  在中環Soho區一定算是平價貨式.  但其特色及別緻的店面設計, 足以令我回味.  我想我要是在中環上班的話, 可能會每星期光顧一次.

No reservations, good thing we went earlier and beat the crowd, this place gets busy even on a Monday night. Some reviews earlier about poor service, but I think the management got the message and now the service is friendly, prompt and unintrusive. We were greeted with smiles and hello's from every staff, we had a table upstairs just by the entrance/corridor but the staff never once bumped into us while they shuttle back and forth between the kitchen and the tables. Food was served at a reasonable pace, the aroma and spices of each dish was different and a lot of thought went into creating the dishes, even if they might sound like standard fare. We had cured salmon (slightly small-ish portion but tasty) and eggplant fatoush which had crunchy za'atar croutons that gave the dish an interesting twist; roasted cauliflower with harissa was a much bigger portion and the combination worked really well; the pulled lamb shoulder was a little dry and made it feel as if there wasn't much meat to it; so we added a shish taouk (two thumbs up!) and grilled halloumi to round it off.

Will come again to try the other dishes.

Quite interestingly, they didn’t take reservations and said they’ll put our group of 4 on the “waiting list” but there would be a high chance we would have the table straight away. Once we got there, like any other restaurants in Hong Kong, they wouldn’t let us in until everyone was present. Food was alright, I’m not personally a big fan of Lebanese food. More important thing was the TERRIBLE service. I understand that it’s a small restaurant in the middle of Soho and they have to fasten up the turnover rate, but the waiters were blatantly hurrying us and giving us the look, not to mention exchanging looks with each other while we were sipping on our leftover drinks. It was not only me who felt uncomfortable by their pushy behavior, and we ended up leaving the restaurant with dissatisfaction. Do not go here if you want to dine in peace.

Since my last visit, I have been meaning to come back for the ricebox so I did.This time I chose the rice and salad with some dressings which were really delicious because it was refreshing and mixed with lots of Middle eastern spices.They used Basmati rice as well which is my favourite rice.Will try the restaurant upstairs soon.

I ordered the LaMaison Labneh ($48) and Pita Bread (18) to start, the labneh was similar to a tzatziki, with shredded cucumber (I think) through it. The yoghurt was beautiful and thick, and had za'atar sprinkled over the top and a well of olive oil in the middle. The pita was tasty and soft when warm, and a very generous amount. It did go rather crispy as it cooled, though

For mains I ordered the Roasted Cauliflower ($58) and the Lamb Kibbeh ($108). The 2 dishes did come out staged with a fair wait between them. I think as a soft opening they are still having a few teething issues maybe which is fine, but I think it would have been better for them to be served together. The cauliflower was fantastic, savoury, very spicy. The cauliflower itself was perfectly roasted, not too soft or overcooked, not crunchy either. It was very spicy, with a harissa and lemon juice sauce underneath it and a very liberal spicing on the cauliflower itself before it went in the oven. The harissa sauce was for me the standout, and really made the dish. I feel it would maybe be too spicy for quite a few people out there though. The serving was easily enough for 2 people, being essentially 2 quarters of a cauliflower.

I finished the cauliflower and waited a while for the Lamb Kibbeh ($108) to come out. It finally arrived and it was also an excellent dish. 3 meatballs served on a bed of labneh with pomegranate seeds and a mint, parsley and red onion garnish/salad on top. The herbs went really well with the lamb and the tangy labneh with the pomegranate providing a sweet tone in the mix. Great dish.

I also had a glass of a Lebanese red wine ($88), which the waiter recommended after providing me a sample of both reds on the menu to try which went very well with the food. All up the food was really good, I would take friends here. The servings were very generous, I ate way more than I needed to. As a soft opening at the time of writing, they are still a little slow getting food out even though the restaurant was only a third full, but the quality is definitely there. The staff were great as well.

題外話/補充資料: Still in soft opening and the menu says such, not sure if they will change it once fully open. Also they will be selling the ingredients that are stacked along the wall eventually but not during the soft opening.

At first I thought it was French because of the spelling but after googling it, I found out it was Lebanese and there are not many Lebanese joints in HK.

Cafe Lebanaise sounds French and it might have some French connections because I seem to recognize one of the diners from Les fil a maman and La Station.

If I wasn't having dinner that night, I would have settled for a wrap or Tabouleh salad.
They have a food glossary card so if you see any word on the menu which you don't understand you can refer to it.

I thought they were going to give me the one from the glass display but they already had them ready in tubs but luckily they were made an hour ago so they were really fresh.

The taste of this date cake was divine, basically the same as the British sticky toffee pudding which is soft and moist but not as sweet.
I was surprised it wasn't too sweet because most Middle Eastern dates I have tried are too sweet.

Also had the Pomegranite Labneh which is yoghurt and it tasted really strong, it was thick, sweet and tart.
