This is my favorite Izakaya resto in Hong Kong. I almost visit 2-3 time every single month since they launched in May 2018. The head chef Shun is very talented and creative which make all this dishes beautiful and yummy. The menu around 30 items from snack to share plate and the drink menu is large if you not familiar with sake. The staff is well versed in recommending from the list. 如果唔怕嘈想有氣氛啲到啱晒裏面播啲好rock 既音樂,想食佢最出名嘅Wagyu sando, 原來係每日限定所以去到嘅時候已經賣完,全晚最鍾意係佢嘅蟹肉烏冬個醬汁好濃味,配埋啲酸甜蟹肉,另外個粟米都好有驚喜脆脆地甜甜地就有啲焦糖牛油係上面,至於甜品嗰個雪條好特別裏便係有啲好似mochi, 韌韌地!

主菜就係我地最期待晚和牛三文治啦! 我地叫Medium,即係大約五成熟左右,和牛處理得唔會太生,都唔會太熟剛剛好。夾住三文治中間加左Wasabi同芥末醬,個味道同和牛好夾。好有驚喜。

另一個值得推介就係呢個Yaki Udon,佢有大量蟹肉加上好creamy既白汁,口感好Rich得黎又唔會太膩。另外Hot Pot Rice都好有驚喜,反而好少見人推介,呢個飯好食在佢調味調得非常好,唔會太濃味得黎又帶得出雜菌既鮮味,鐘意淡口味既朋友仔一定要試。

一直都想食Fukuro, 但係好難book位同埋有啲貴的關係 終於等到black sheep series的時候用其他foodie的log-in優先book位 ‼️ 註意 千祈唔好遲到 因為佢啲枱係唔留超過10分鐘 而且等下一張枱係要30分鐘以上 但係為咗$288 食晒7個佢嘅signature dish, 係抵嘅🔥 等咗40分鐘 坐咗喺廁所出面的bar枱🙄 唉 只怪我黑仔!始終有人要坐
個sashimi一般般喇 / 醉蜆 唔錯 好多隻 粒粒都有肉 無呃秤🤪 / 漬物 好食的關係 相都唔記得影 / 炸粟米 造得好出色👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻雖然要無儀態咁咬粟米 但係好色搭救 / 辣雞 真係好辣 無特別 / 蟹肉烏冬🤤🤤🤤 已經飽到上心口 都係忍唔住食完一啖再食 / 雪糕三文治 好厚身的雪糕🤩🤩🤩

Overrated?

Heard fukuro for quite some time but am always afraid of the long queue
Finally tried it last night

Oyster is in huge size
The saucing is really Japanese
Not too overwhelming and can still retain the freshness of the oyster

Japanese omelette is just normal
I guess they can make it better by soaking the egg in a more unique soup
So to bring out something extra from normal omelette

Caramel butter corn is definitely a must try for corn people haha
Although only The first bite is interesting
And they start to get really sweet sticky and heavy at the end

Yaki udon is thick and creamy
Good to balance with some vegetables in the paste
But it may be a little bit too Salty for some people

It’s overall decent
Not expensive if you skip the drinks

Fukuro menu很簡單,就一張食物的一張餐飲的。我們點了三隻chicken wings, wagyu zabuton, drunken clams。最讓我們失望的是沒了他們的另一個Classic,Wagyu Steak Ketsu Sando。應該是我們太晚進場已經賣光了。飲品方面我自己點了ume,有梅成份的特調酒,是有點像梅酒。

食物方面是很滿意的,而且擺盤精緻,值得打卡拍照。最賣出是wagyu zabuton,肉質肥美,加上zabuton 一直是我最喜歡的牛肉位置,每次去日本吃燒肉都必點這個位置。

可惜是我們在餐廳外實在等得太久了,胃口和期待感已磨光。很欣賞這間餐廳的用心,雖然要等很長時間,但他會用盡一切方法令你等得好過點哈哈,而且所有服務生的顏值都在線,是加分不少。而且知道我們和朋友慶祝生日,他們又送了一瓶清酒來,還有帥哥團一起唱生日歌。整個晚上我們吃送來的東西比我們自己點的還多。

外觀真的很漂亮,和牛美麗的紅色令人食指大動,油花分布也很吸引人,熟度大概是三分熟吧!
吐司烤過後很脆,炸和牛吃起來外層脆裡面非常的軟嫩,果然是和牛,油脂豐富,所以很多汁,中間抹上芥末醬,吃起來是不錯,令油炸物比較不會膩,但是蓋過了和牛本身該有的牛味,有點可惜!不過肉質真的無得輸

另一個印上fukuro圖案的最中餅非常日式,但是口味獨特又創新,裡面為海苔口味的雪糕中間為酸甜的莓果醬
全部一口咬下,最中的脆加上冰涼的雪糕,口感豐富
味道上也是多層次,最中溫柔地調和中間的甜味,而海苔味的雪糕吃起來很特別,味道不至於令人無法接受,加上酸酸的醬,非常奇妙,外面沒吃過這種味道,可以試試

It was a bad dinning experience given the price they charged for the food and their service made me feel like eating in a low-end local restaurant.

Bad place for friend gathering. Will never go back again.

Very bad dining experience, never ever wanna go back again!! Food were over estimated, somehow nothing special. Service was just so so. Most importantly, playing punk music in a Japanese restaurant is definitely a bad idea, too loud, too noisy that we can’t even hear what’s the waiter said. Totally kill the vibes and appetite.

A few facts/comments about the place. 
1) When I went I think it's quite new so it didn't allow any booking. 
2) The food was okay, but I don't think it's too good. 
3) Portions were quite small, you will have to order a bit more than you think in order to get full. 
4) So if you like the typical westernized vibe this would be a good go to place, but if you're more focused on ingredients and food quality I would have second thoughts. 

In conclusion I wasn't impressed. I would think that some of their other restaurants have done a much better job in terms of food. Especially when the menu is quite small and you have the feeling that you don't know how to order more in order to get full, I think that's not too great. But I guess commercially speaking the marketing of the restaurant is not to create a fine dinning restaurant so I would just say I'm not really their target clientele for this particular restaurant. I still appreciate the group for operating quite some good restaurants around the city, just that I'm not a big fan of this particular one.

Dessert was as good as their savory items. Tried their mochi dessert special. Interesting presentation with the mochi ‘roll’ lying on some popping chocolate and matcha crumbs, with the rum sauce beneath. The mochi itself was soft and chewy and taste like Japanese banana cake. When eating all elements together, it created such harmony and balance in both flavor and texture. The chocolate and matcha were acting like popping candies to stimulate with texture and drama while rum sauce brought the right tanginess to balance off the sweetness.

I would describe their service as being very aggressive. On the positive side, staff were very attentive and friendly, proactively explaining the menu and recommending their specials. But on the flip side, they were a bit pushy at times, serving and collecting plates in such a haste. Almost feel like they were rushing us to finish our meal even when they still have plenty of empty seats. Urging us to order dessert right after we finish our mains, and the bill arrived soon after we finished our dessert (without us even asking to check the bill) These small gestures indeed slightly demoted our dining experience. Would suggest slowing down a little bit, allowing customers to enjoy the food in a relaxing pace.
