Having dined all over the world these past 40 years in some of the world’s finest fine restaurants, back street noodle shops and street stalls, I have seen all sorts of behaviour by restaurant staff but never have I come across such appalling service/behaviour as we experienced at Chueca. First, one of our party arrived 15 mins ahead of our booked time to be told they had released our booking because we were late (!) and then when we were all finally seated the server and then the manager that we escalated to displayed nothing but contempt for myself, my wife and our two friends. The “manager” was uninterested in our wondering why we were not told when we booked that they didn’t have a liquor license, and then was down right rude when we challenged him about his dismissive behaviour towards us. We were left in shock. A man who claimed to be the owner tracked us down in a nearby restaurant to apologise but the damage was done.
Needless to say we didn’t get as far as the food - I mean, who would stay and pay to be treated in such a manor.
For us the future does not look bright for a restaurant where such behaviour exists.
Awful. We would never return.
