This coming weekend, we do not have anything to do thus we decided to go out and do some window shopping and have lunch. Before we started our shopping, we planned to have Japanese food for lunch today. Kura Tobi was located at Carnarvon Road, just beside The One Tsim Sha Tsui. The restaurant was huge and the lighting was dim and cozy, very relaxing. They do offered lunch set, with wide range of choice for us to choose from, ranging from sushi, sashimi don and udon etc. For their set, it consisted of appetizers, salad, miso soup and steamed egg.
Sashimi don set - It was presented nicely and colourful, looking attractive. We ordered the more expensive sashimi don, as the ingredients were of better quality. It consisted of sea urchin, prawn, salmon, tuna and salmon roe. They were very fresh and salmon roe was very smooth and flavourful, complimenting well with the other sashimi. Sea urchin was soft and smooth and prawn was sweet as well. Rice was slightly sticky in texture and chewy. Miso soup provided was clear, with seaweed in it. Steamed egg was soft and smooth, served hot. Salad was fresh and crunchy and appetizers was served with walnuts, which was crunchy and chewy.
Eight pieces sushi with udon set - This set consisted of miso soup, steamed egg, salad and appetizers as well. It was presented nicely too, with salmon, octopus, salmon roe, sea urchin, prawn, tuna, scallop and clam sushi in it. They were fresh and chewy, going well with the sushi rice. Wasabi was provided to dip onto it too. Udon was very smooth and chewy, one of the better tasted. Soup was clear and sweet as well.
