食物雖好,都要有好同伴分享。謝謝兔兔請客。亦感恩與兔兔久別重逢,感覺似是更勝從前。是感情升華了,還是人大了.... 總之開心就是了😊

Besides counter seats surrounding the Binchotan grill as the centerpiece, there are also tables available on the side decorated with bright seaside colors as well as two private rooms that is great for big groups and parties.

With an unique selection of cocktails that uses Japanese ingredients, I couldn't help but to try a few of their handcrafted cocktails starting with this Green Tea Old-Fashioned with Maker's Mark, matcha liqueur and teapot bitters. This was a strong whiskey drink that I feel is great for guys that can't stand sweet cocktails!

We started off the night with crispy codfish wafers and fried Japanese baby shrimps that made perfect snacks for drinks!  The Japanese fried chicken was a hit as juiciness of the free-range and hormone-free chicken really shone through while I felt that the batter could have been crispier.

We then enjoyed a delicious salad with whole avocado on mixed salad leaves with a shoyu dressing and I loved how the avocado was thinly sliced which was buttery soft to eat.

Our attention was then turned to the main attraction at Shoku - the binchotan that was ready for action! We were able to observe how our Japanese orange roughy Kinki fish was being cooked right in front of our eyes.

The Japanese orange roughy kinki fish arrived looking a little comical with one eye attached and wide-opened mouth and we had fun taking pictures of it before digging right into the fish. The skin was charred to a crispy state while the flesh was supple and sweet - highly recommended!

The lamb chops were fantastic with a nice balance of gaminess and pronounced lamb flavors but some of the pieces we got were a bit too fatty.

After all that food, we were then finally ready for dessert and tried the Shoku Dessert Platter with deep-fried Hokkaido green tea milk pudding, azuki bean dorayaki and green panna cotta for a sweet ending!

來到最期待的炭燒了!打頭陣就是有「海中紅寶石」之稱,身價矜貴的 燒喜之次 (Kinki);師傅將魚以特別方式串來燒烤,故出品仍保留游泳形態,同時皮香脆、肉超嫩又有豐厚魚油魚汁,著實美味難忘啊~

吃完海鮮又來到肉類,這晚一連吃了 Prime Wagyu Flat Iron & Rib Eye,兩款都柔嫩無根、肉味香濃,其中又以 Rib Eye 的豐厚油脂較能誘惑我的心!另外伴碟的BB椰菜也超好吃。

最後還有新出不久的 Volcano Roll,澎湃美味的牛油果、飛魚籽,點綴在輕炸過的蟹柳青瓜卷上,味道豐富吸引,加上要命好吃的微辣誘人沙律醬,非常的對我的口胃!

最後還有 Signature Chilled homemade Korean Kimchi noodles with "bronchitis" using,以及 Grilled Eel Fried Rice。那冷麵加了炭粉關係,顏色黑黑的,質感爽滑加上辣辣的泡菜,凍食十分過癮;炒飯由於加了 150g 鰻肉在內,啖啖肉也美味令人滿足~

甜品Japanese Dessert Platter Trio;後方 Deep Fried Hokkaido Green Tea milk pudding 像是中式炸鮮奶,帶點微鹹,after taste 正是抹茶的回甘味,很特別!中間 Adult Bean Dorayaki 香甜軟熟也不錯,最後 Shoku Panna Cotta 甜味輕柔、質感極滑,抹茶醬非常甘濃,組合美妙!

Shoku experience provides a joyful and open-spaced environment.  The binchotan grill showcases fishes that can be set on the binchotan grill, grilled and oven-baked.  The venue has a great vibe to it with the semi-glass private rooms showcasing colorful artpieces.  Live jazz was on this evening and the vibe whilst sitting at the binchotan bar seats were the best seats in the house.FoodWe especially enjoyed the Hokkaido scallops which was lightly seared on the binchotan grill and simmered with ga

Shoku experience provides a joyful and open-spaced environment.  The binchotan grill showcases fishes that can be set on the binchotan grill, grilled and oven-baked.  The venue has a great vibe to it with the semi-glass private rooms showcasing colorful artpieces.  Live jazz was on this evening and the vibe whilst sitting at the binchotan bar seats were the best seats in the house.

Food

We especially enjoyed the Hokkaido scallops which was lightly seared on the binchotan grill and simmered with garlic.  The taste and mixture of the grill and garlic roasted on top was exquisite.  Japanese scallops simply put are the best.

The Whole Live Abalone was also added with a touch of sauce which added to the flavors and gave the texture a nice aroma.  The abalone was extremely fresh and the edges of the abalone were very very nice.

Finally the surf clams although sashimi was allowed having it lightly grilled with the binchotan charcoal provided a new experience that you wouldn't get from a typical sushi restaurant.  The rawness and freshness from the Japanese surf clams were still present whilst adding a new touch from the natural aromas of doing it 'binchotan Japanese' style.  The Japanese always have new ways of re-creating dishes that are traditional in form.

We accompanied the meal with their popular Japanese dressing tofu salad along with the Sakura shrimp truffle fried rice.  This was a standout with the Sakura shrimp flavors crispy and aromatic and matched extremely well with the truffle.  This was something unique and a combination that was very delicious.

The Prime Wagyu Flat Iron had very beefy flazors and a great texture to it.  Finally the oven-baked fish was an amazing fish that must be tried.  It is slowly baked and the flavors are infused with light seasoning that is mouth-watering!

令我回想起去年到過墨爾本旅行,四處都有壽司卷物在賣,明白外國人還是較難接受魚生食物。但對於吃慣魚生刺身的香港人來說,飽足感強的壽司卷物,吸引度當然大大減低。可是熱愛牛油果的朋友們便不能錯過,軟滑的牛油果幾乎無處不在,餐廳可是毫不吝嗇。

Shoku Dessert Platter包括了< Aduki bean dorayaki 紅豆銅鑼燒> (比坊間的銅鑼燒多了一層吉士,多了一份心思。可惜這麼厚實的澱粉質食物,很難在尾聲的甜品時間突圍而出。) < Deep-fried Hokkaido green tea milk pudding 綠茶炸奶凍 >(彷效大良炸鮮奶做法,感覺創新但綠茶奶凍被炸過後未夠香滑。)< Shoku panna cotta 牛奶布甸 >(綠茶茶味甘,牛奶味香濃突出,布甸軟滑度剛好,獲得一致好評,令當晚試食活動甜美終結。)繼澎湃激昂之海膽後,又多了夢幻之魚喜知次令我牽腸掛肚!

Yesterday I was down at the pulse and tried out shoku. I normally don’t order things with avocado here in Hong Kong because normally its really hard and not fresh, but here OMG they give you a WHOLE avocado on a bed of greens! Obviously this Avocado Fan Girl was in heaven. For main meal I got the fried chicken was literally off incredible, super crispy, but still so moist inside. The batter was full of flavor and the dipping sauce complimented the fried chicken to a T! Really enjoyed the whole a
