I’ve always loved Japanese Kaiseki-ryori.(traditional multi-course Japanese dinner) Each dish is always so intricately prepared and beautifully plated. You know you’re always getting the best seasonal ingredients and you can expect your taste buds to be indulged.I was pleasantly surprised that I could have this experience in Hong Kong at ichinoden, not unlike the places I’ve tried in Japan before.Their dinner courses are a 7 course meal with three different price ranges to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised that I could have this experience in Hong Kong at ichinoden, not unlike the places I’ve tried in Japan before.
Their dinner courses are a 7 course meal with three different price ranges to choose from. (HKD388, HKD588, HKD888)
We chose the $388 and the $888 course. The major difference between the two is that for the 388 one you get a unagi cucumber salad instead of the sashimi platter, a tempura dish instead of a wagyu sea urchin sushi, just one option for the fry dish instead of three and just one dessert instead of a dessert platter.
I think both options were delicious, but I might choose the cheaper options as the differences are not super huge.
I enjoyed every course and I felt that they were quality ingredients and expertly prepared. I would definitely visit again if I was feeling fancy. My favorite was the matcha that came paired with the desserts. It was a perfect ending to a beautiful meal.
