This wasn’t the first time I dined at Phi in Taikoo. Just on April 26, I had the best experience there—Great service, new dinner set menu that came with soup, main dish, two soufflé pancakes, and a drink. Today everything changed! There’s no more set menu. I ordered an All Day Breakfast. The manager refused to replace the pancakes with soufflé pancakes. This wasn’t the first time I dined at Phi in Taikoo. Just on April 26, I had the best experience there—Great service, new dinner set menu that came with soup, main dish, two soufflé pancakes, and a drink. Today everything changed! There’s no more set menu. I ordered an All Day Breakfast. The manager refused to replace the pancakes with soufflé pancakes. Her reasoning was that each batch of batter makes 3 soufflé pancakes so they can’t make 2 for me even if I paid for them. (What happened just last week then when I just got 2 soufflé pancakes that came with the dinner set?) Okay, fine. So I ordered the dish and WAITED FOR NEARLY 20 mins. No food! The manager said the reason for the delay is that the chef broke the eggs and need to cook again… really!? That took another 5 minutes. Finally my meal came. No apologies whatsoever. The food was good. But as I ate, I witnessed the waitress opened a bag of chips, pulled down her mask and ate. Meanwhile she kept chitchatting with the manager and had so much fun not serving tables. The other waiter was playing with his phone and was reluctant to serve. Finally an old couple came by and asked the servers whether there’s tea set. The manager handed the elderly the a la cart menu, saying that there’s no set and went outside to talk on the phone. The old man was upset and left. I was very upset seeing all these. I finished my food, stacked up utensils on the plate, and waited for the check. None of the servers looked at my direction. They were either talking to one another or on their mobile phones. They simply decided not to serve! I don’t think they deserve that 10% service charge. The manager should be fired because the entire crew was so much more professional last week. I have no idea what happened.
