We'd received a call confirming our visit for lunch at 10am that morning. After being seated at restaurant for 10 minutes we received another call...I informed the girl that we were at a table but she checked us out anyway!As it was my birthday we decided to forgo the buffet appetiser and ordered the duck confit, chorizo, spinach and tomato salad. We'd received a call confirming our visit for lunch at 10am that morning. After being seated at restaurant for 10 minutes we received another call...I informed the girl that we were at a table but she checked us out anyway!
As it was my birthday we decided to forgo the buffet appetiser and ordered the duck confit, chorizo, spinach and tomato salad. There were a few unhappy shreds of confit duck and about 4 times the amount of fat and skin which should have been crisped so that it contrasts with the flesh. It was inedible. The chorizo was carelessly served in clumps rather than scattered through the salad and several of the spinach leaves were slimy! Bad move...we should have had the buffet!
Our main courses were excellent. A prime dry aged Nebraska rib-eye cooked blue for my husband and the most tender and delicious braised short-rib with snails and red wine sauce for me.
We decided not to have dessert. Our glasses of sparking wine and red for the mains were very good.
Coffee was nothing special which seems to be the norm for most of Hong Kong!
If you are the slightest bit upset by being on a boat, this is not the place for you as there is the constant gentle movement from the sea swell!
