I was expecting a pleasant holiday brunch today with a couple of girlfriends. First off, 3 people, only 2 menus. What is the deal with bringing enough menus for the table? The restaurant wasn’t even full. Why can’t they bring enough menus?? 3people 3 menus! What’s so hard about that???Nobody told us what was not available until we ordered avocado toast. First off, 3 people, only 2 menus. What is the deal with bringing enough menus for the table? The restaurant wasn’t even full. Why can’t they bring enough menus?? 3people 3 menus! What’s so hard about that???
Nobody told us what was not available until we ordered avocado toast. The water said he would check with the chef when we wanted it without chorizo. Then a waitress came over and said it’s not available. We were not happy but asked what else was not available on the menu and she said everything else is available but the avocado toast. All right, We’ll get over it. Just wanted to make sure what else is not available before we move on.
Appetizers were ok. Random stuff, but ok. Chocolate croissant, some cheese with cold cut meats and crab tartar on a bed of avocados. Hmmm... thought avocado toast was not available yet you do have avocados?? Ok, moving on.
The second course was awful, baked egg yet it was raw egg floating in some tomato broth not hot enough to cook the egg. Definitely NOT baked egg.
Next course, the fish was ok not over cooked yet absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Ok, I can overlook this one since it was cooked ok.
Then the dessert.
We wanted French toast only to be told it’s not available!! Again!! We checked with the waitress earlier and she assured us everything but the avocado toast was available and now the manager says everything else but French toast is available which means the avocado toast is available! We tried to bring the waitress over to ask and confirm but the manager shooed her away. No apology no remorse. He just said “misunderstanding” what misunderstanding?? We asked multiple times and now this? Ok so I got berries instead. No avocado toast, no French toast.
Now I have a stomach ache. My stomach has been grumbling and very uncomfortable. Maybe the berries were not washed or the water glass was dirty. I had to change the glass earlier as it had a fishy smell.
I will NEVER go back and want to make sure people know about the food quality here.. as if the bad food was not enough the service was awful.
I could never understand how these bad restaurants can stay in business in Hong Kong.
