Tokyolima is a Japanese-Peruvian style restaurant in Central under the pirata group. The restaurant is located at Central, with the Japanese style pub interior serving unique Japanese and Peruvian fusion food. We ordered the Tokyo tasting menu (680pp). They are the appetisers. La Causa is the smashed potato with prawn tartare and avocado mousse. A tempura shrimp put on top. Ceviche classic is a sour and spicy dishes with ceviche, sweet potato and corn, as well as the tiger’s milk dressing. The tuna watermelon is a refreshing one with both of the ingredients marinate in soy sauce.
Second Course – Taco/ Beef tataki/ Prawn acevichado
My favourite is the prawn acevichado. The crispy tempura prawn together with the creamy avocado and a slice of hamachi is put on top. A very complete and complex flavor and texture in one bite. The taco is wrapping the slow cooked beef cheak and avocado while th seared striploin with garlic flakes and spring onion tastes really good.
Main- Tokyolima steak/ salmon/ arroz con marisocos
Tokyolima steak is the rib eye served with burnt spring onion butter. Tender and juicy. The grilled salmon stick with wasabi mayo is goo too. The arroz con marisocos is the Peruvian style seafood rice with lots of seafood.
Dessert – oye papi
Last but not least, we have the chocolate mousse and cookies with coconut ice cream to make a perfect finale of our dinner.
