my Partner and I had good memories of the food at Joia, and wanting to treat another couple to a special dinner, we booked a table for 4 . We arrived early and being shown our table indoors we sat  and immediately ordered a cocktail each. We asked to change tables because of the tgreat of noise from a very large and already raucous table nearby. This the hostess attended to promptly. We asked the Nepalese waiter where our drinks were (already 15 minutes had elapsed) and he was obviously annoyed

The restaurant was about 25% full and the bar didn't look busy at all. After another 5 minutes we asked again and this arrogant waiter turned his back on us! I asked to speak to the manager or the maitre d' and eventually a man came up. He wasn't able to explain why it was taking 20 minutes to bring a cocktail, nor could he offer any reason for his waiter being so rude and offensive. It was at this juncture that we decided to leave and not subject our guests to such boorish arrogance.

老公想食餐牌上$198的funghi risotto, (以前食過好鍾意) 我都係, 再點了出名的florentina燒牛肉 $798. 各人都點完後, 再 點了一支$820的紅酒。

開了酒大家等食啦, 等完又等都未有, 朋友開始餓到發火。終於同侍應经理問咗幾次, 朋友拍哂枱, 食物一次過出現了。

我的Risotto, 成個食堂茶餐廳炒 飯咁大碟, 成个小山咁, 糊糊的, 無セfunghi, 味道一般,  我老公个碟, 無啦啦變咗白松露Risotto, 盛惠$578!! 也是糊飯上, 加了些Truffles 片。

碟Florentina燒牛肉, 个碟凍冰冰, ,D肉自然凍冰冰, 並且D肉上面大洒粗鹽, 但肉一D牛肉味都冇, 似雪藏牛多! 又中伏了!!

侍應哥哥倒完一次酒, 餘下三份一樽, 食飯中途, 佢埋離攞起樽, 望下各人的杯未空 (支酒其実重未透好氣) , 就一次過把餘下的酒一次過倒哂落一位朋友的杯, 再將酒樽倒轉, chok 兩chok 倒入佢杯中!!  哈!!有冇再更無知識的侍應呢?

一位朋友好心以教導的語氣說倒酒唔係咁倒架, 如果有渣就入哂佢杯了,  怎知換來不以為然的反應, 話「我倒左好多枝都無問題, 無碎水松的。」OK, 我只好叫我朋友收聲啦!!

這間定位算高的意大利餐廳, 從此成為過去式!!!

This is one of the shorter reviews as I don't have too much to comment about the food other than the fact that it's pretty average stuff.

It's one of the restaurants located in the Civic Square of Elements. It's classified as being an Italian restaurant.

They had a decent amount of food selection, including a lot of white truffel based cuisines, various types of Boston lobster based dishes (grilled lobster, lobster salad, lobster paster...etc. ), all sorts of grilled fish and meat. They also have pizzas.

We ordered salmon tar tar, grilled sea bass and their signature lobster pasta.

This is one of the few restaurants that serve draft Peroni. That's good.

There was nothing special about the bread basket. The bread were all cold and bland.

Salmon tar tar (Signature):

The multi-layered salmon tar tar was nice. The combination of appel sorbet, salmon tar tar, mozarella cheese and a piece of dough was pretty good. The salmon had a very good umami. This raised our expectations.

This must have been the smallest sea bass (with or without the head) I've had in my life so far. It's about 12-13 cm long (excluding the tail).

It's grilled with sea salt. Somehow the taste of the salt didn't really get into the fish. The sea salt was smeared unevenly on the fish so it's a mouthful of salt on one bite and blandness on another. The grilled potatoes, asparagus and paprika were nothing to write home about.

Frankly, a serious disappointment.

The spaghetti came in an interesting paper pack. It's purpose is apparently to keep the juice and flavour intact. 

The waitress poured the contents onto another plate before serving. 

The amount of spaghetti was certainly generous and could cover the whole plate. There was one whole lobster claw worth of lobster meat (not a lot). The spaghetti was not quite al dente and only had a slight layer of tomato sauce. Nothing special. Not what I'd expect from a signature dish.

(Apologies for not taking photographs of the end product as I was kind of demotivated due to my headless sea bass.)

Conclusion:

The bill came down to about HK$2,200 which included one draft beer and two glasses of red (Valpoichella and a "signature" house red.) Pricey considering the quality of the food.

Not a restaurant I could recommend to anyone.

悠閒的一個下午。。睇住civic square 大熱天都著住full set 西裝的上班一族食lunch就讓自己放假一天吧我地坐outside...coz my friend said 係冷氣房too long time n he wanna smoke..煙灰缸design 幾特別。。用石做。。仲跟一盒火柴。。而家個年代仲有火柴。。哈funnywe ordered buffet lunch 包。。吾熱。。一般buffet salad ..食左d caesar salad 新鮮脆口main course pan fried salmon fish..底下應該係波菜不油膩。。多汁。。goodn my friend ordered pork chop..juicy..鬆軟。。gooddessert...好有水準。我怕甜。。dessert 甜度剛好。。不膩。。but service not good enough .冇哂水冇主動加水。。做野好趕甘。。無笑容

Joia 去了幾次均是公事跟客人吃意大利菜,所以部份的菜式都試過。今天是第一次私人飯局,我們第一次看電影後走到平台,選了Joia 並坐戶外,也幸好我們坐戶外,因為最後我地傾到好夜,否則真是阻人收工。我剛看了一本關於創業的書,覺得很有啟發性,席間也談到創業問題,不知不覺間就傾夜了。麵包籃後先上前菜蕃茄芝士。排碟跟以往不同,以前是一列的。好吃,但不驚喜。再來是prawn pasta, 當時環境昏暗,也看不清楚原來賣相十分精緻。黑松露味道濃烈,龍蝦的配搭令菜式更爲豐富和名貴。小雲吞皮厚度適中,實在是非常非常必試不可的菜式。 最後是rib eye, 埋在一堆我不喜歡的火箭菜中。牛扒肉質鮮嫩。加上2杯紅酒,真是一個美麗的夜晚。

We tried this restaurant by chance since we parked @ Elements. I recalled I went to the pub style restaurant last time and wanna tried something different, we walked around the area and my Italian gene just brought me to Joia. The good thing dining @ the rooftop is that you got to enjoy the al fresco dining without worrying too much about the car passing by or the dust from the street. We don't really have any expectation on Joia, I just felt very comfy at the moment I was seated as Joia offers

We don't really have any expectation on Joia, I just felt very comfy at the moment I was seated as Joia offers fine dining without the ornate decoration.

 The bread basket was nice as a starter and we could enjoy the wine right away, cheers!

  Beef Tenderloin Tartare with Artichokes, Green Apple, Soya & Ginger Sabayon served with a Shooter of Arugula and Lemon - love the combination & seasoning and it's just simple & refreshing to the palate.

 It's my decision to order the pizza and I do think it's kinda a ritual to have my red to go with a Parma ham pizza.  The thin crust pizza here is amazingly good, it's thin but not dry and yet very crispy!!!  I have to give this pizza a 5-thumb up, you definitely have to give it a try (if they can keep the standard 
) if you happen to come to Joia.

 Home made Prawn-Filled pasta with Boston Lobster, Black Truffles and Asparagus - this was impressive, I am not a big fan of riviolli but then the smell & taste of this dish was indeed very nice.  It's not a big portion but good enough to share between the 2.  The lobster is handled carefully that it's not over-cooked.  If you like pasta and something with a stronger taste, this will be a dish to tryout.
 Hmm, I don't remember since when I am so much indulged in Tiramisu, a cheese cake I used to hate in the past.  Since then, I will order Tiramisu at every single Italian Restaurant I frequent.  The one @ Joia is a bit different from the traditional style but I will say the presentation won the applause from me.  Taste-wise, it's not bad as it's creamy (but not overly creamy) and I really like taste of the marsala wine though personally I prefer a stronger accent of espresso with wine.

当日想去逛圆方 以我的习惯 会先找好吃饭的地方 挑中的当然是JOIA首先是因为是意大利美食爱好者 其次是因为当日胃口比较大想吃自助阳光明媚的中午 waitress问我想在室内还是室外 当然是室外!整天坐写字楼 难得能晒晒太阳喜欢JOIA的环境 在圆方的露台上 视线不错 而且从商场到这里有惊喜的感觉自助的种类不算太多 前菜有蜜瓜火腿 西红柿和CHEESE 鱿鱼等小海鲜拌蘑菇等经典意大利款 基本都是我喜欢的 当然还有凯撒沙拉 火箭菜沙拉 和蓝莓红莓西瓜火龙果等这些款只要做的足够好吃 我就相当满足了 整体来说 水平发挥正常 没有特别惊艳的 也没有很糟糕的 主菜是4选1  我选的rivioli  摆盘挺漂亮的 只是海鲜的rivioli有点腥 不够香甜品的水果挞味道不错 慕斯蛋糕也可以 奶冻很香 忍不住多吃了两块 最后吃的挺撑的 结账300出头 中午太阳很大 后来晒的都有点晃眼呢之后有一天晚上去过 点了个推荐的甜点 带蛋卷、冰激凌的那种 有点甜  不是我的菜混合果汁不错 晚上坐在天台上真是很惬意 当时天还比较凉 如果是夏天就更好了

自助的种类不算太多 前菜有蜜瓜火腿 西红柿和CHEESE 鱿鱼等小海鲜拌蘑菇等经典意大利款

基本都是我喜欢的 当然还有凯撒沙拉 火箭菜沙拉 和蓝莓红莓西瓜火龙果等

这些款只要做的足够好吃 我就相当满足了

整体来说 水平发挥正常 没有特别惊艳的 也没有很糟糕的

主菜是4选1  我选的rivioli  摆盘挺漂亮的 只是海鲜的rivioli有点腥 不够香

甜品的水果挞味道不错 慕斯蛋糕也可以 奶冻很香 忍不住多吃了两块

最后吃的挺撑的 结账300出头 中午太阳很大 后来晒的都有点晃眼呢

之后有一天晚上去过 点了个推荐的甜点 带蛋卷、冰激凌的那种 有点甜  不是我的菜

混合果汁不错 晚上坐在天台上真是很惬意

当时天还比较凉 如果是夏天就更好了

點解叫尼個 Pasta 呢,因為丈夫想試Lobster同埋丈夫喜歡 Truffle; 而叫尼個Pizza就完全因為妻子我對 Rocket Salad有莫名其妙的情意結,去到任何餐廳有 Rocket Salad 的話我就一定叫。
正所謂「甲之蜜糖,乙之砒霜」,我地兩夫妻嘅口味其實有點南轅北轍。丈夫喜歡Truffle的味道,愈濃愈好; 但我就有點怕Truffle嘅香味,唔係話覺得唔香,但就係唔係幾啃得落,個人口味嘅嘢,不解釋。
第一個考驗就係先上枱的Truffle Pasta。一個一個小帳篷咁嘅Pasta放係一個大玻璃碟中間,上面有一塊塊嘅Truffle同蘆筍,賣相精緻,淡淡嘅Truffle香味飄出嚟,令人忍唔住…影左相先!之後把Pasta放入口,奇異嘅事情發生了!我地兩個都同時覺得好食!因為尼個Truffle真係好香,但唔會好濃好濃咁淨係得Truffle味,係妻子可以接受甚至喜歡的味道,而那個香味又足以滿足丈夫對Truffle嘅要求,Good 丫!
接下來係Pizza了。老實說這個Pizza 同我想像中好大出入,可能平時食開果啲 Pizza係抵食夾大件咩都有,就算係好清嘅Pizza點都有幾條Pamma Ham/煙肉/芝士之類嘅嘢,但尼個真係餐牌無寫就真係無囉。(有時無寫有芝士但上菜先見到有芝士,事關我唔喜歡吃芝士。)不過咁唔代表失望,雖然丈夫話咁多Rocket Salad不如自己買番屋企食好過,但可能佢尼啲貨源同超市唔同/我地飲左酒/食過Truffle啦,佢尼啲食落感覺係新鮮啲嘅。(又可能因為間餐廳好坐啦~)再講,雖然佢好清,但個Pizza幾特別,好薄好脆,又是丈夫喜歡嘅口味。
可能因為飲左酒(我地其實叫左枝House wine,不過唔記得影相,係好飲嘅,女士喜歡的口味,偏甜的紅酒),所以食兩道菜就差不多了,跟住當然係甜品時間。

因為我好鍾意朱古力加香蕉嘅味道,所以一見到餐牌有 “Chocolate, Banana and Chestnuts warm Pudding with Almond Milk and Kumquat”($108) 嘅時候,仲要係未點Main course 同 Pizza 之前,已經暗暗決定最後要點尼個甜品。可惜嘅係希望愈大失望愈大,尼個甜品係以類似心太軟咁嘅形式上枱嘅,入面個餡就似 ”Apple crumble” ,脆得嚟又軟腍腍咁,有啲鬆散,成個感覺係黐立立咁又有啲細細粒嘅脆脆,丈夫覺得味道還可以,我就一啲都唔鍾意。再加上佢有金橘味,我尼個時發現我原來唔太喜歡帶有橘味/橙味嘅甜品。旁邊個小碟裝住嘅係Almond Milk,Almond Milk亦唔係我喜歡嘅味,喜歡杏仁味嘅可能會覺得唔錯。雖然係咁,但佢要加分嘅係果兩粒小生果,佢地唔係普通嘅鮮果伴碟,應該係糖漬水果!我其實未食過糖漬水果,無諗到尼一晚會無心插柳咁試到一直想試嘅嘢。味道是甜,但並不是死甜,好得意。

最後就是丈夫的甜品,係穩穩陣陣唔會瀨嘢嘅 Tiramisu,”Creamy Tiramisu with Chocolate Rice Crispi’s and Wild Berries”($88)。 雖然Tiramisu 都有芝士,但Mascarpone Cheese我係食到嘅,只要唔係太多的話。Tiramisu 其實都食到嫌嫌地,所以而家都好少食,不過丈夫唔係成日食甜品,所以當佢陪我食甜品嘅時間都會叫 Tiramisu。尼個Tiramisu都係水準之作,唔係好甜,丈夫覺得好食。
總括嚟講尼餐係精緻嘅一餐,味蕾滿足,生日快樂。

是日去圓方睇戲+行街..聽朋友介紹去到依間意大利restaurant試下..比想像中差好多-3-唔知係咪岩d外國人口味...我叫左個龍蝦意粉同雜菌意大利飯,2個湯,1個ham..個ham 加左d 芝士醬本身幾好味..但芝士中間又加左幾條唔知咩黎既野..變得搶左ham個味..得返cheese味..2個soup 其實都ok..都濃味既,,不過個味好唔好就見人見智...意大利飯就..真係覺得麻麻地...味道不太好..飯又太硬..雖然正宗既risotto d 飯係硬..不過我個人就麻麻地..我就覺得俾e個價錢..可以去更好食既餐廳..

The atmosphere here is quite good however the food is over-priced. Our table is served by a young lady(probably a Philippino) who is not really professional. it was a round table and I was sitting against the wall. Whenever she wanna served the one next to me her body touched my head Ian's it happened for a few times. There was one time she even used her hand to push my back and stepped on my headphones without lifting her foot up until she finished refilling the water. This is really unprofessi

Joia has a nice, relaxing, open space view of the condo element, complete with candles on the tables. These are it's only good points.Mediocre food was served which was unexpected for the price we paid. For $188, the appertizers we ordered consist of only 3 scallops and some bitter onions, and nothing else. The complimentary bread was a reasonable portion but was served hard and cold. Butter came after we asked the third time and we were almost done. Only after we finished our bread then they served water and wine. Service was that slow..... 😣 they are not short of staff, just..... Idk.

Main course was tuna onion pizza and rib eye steak. Stingy with tuna, I thought we were served with plain cheese pizza. Taste ok just wish I could find the tuna😨. Rib eye was over cooked and served with onions below and over oily veg. $338 pre sliced rib eye that taste plain and served plain. 


Joia brings out the plainness in food to a whole new level.  It's not tasteless, in fact, we felt very thirsty after dinner.  I just wish they will be more innovative and daring in their seasoning and presentation. Improvement on service would be a huge bonus.

We went to Elements because I wanted to buy some pen for my test or Exam. After that, we were hungry and so we go there for afternoon tea. We went there because we are the pizza lover. The food is ok but the price are very expensive. I am socked when I open the menu because the cheapest pizza called Margherita also cost HK138. And most of the drink cost 60more dollars for one cup.The atmosphere in this restaurant are good. When we walked into, we think we were in the Northern Italian, not in Hon

The atmosphere in this restaurant are good. When we walked into, we think we were in the Northern Italian, not in Hong Kong. But I'm amazing, why we can't sit inside the restaurant?


Let me tell about the food

We had ordered "Pizza margherita", it is the cheapest pizza. It makes of mozzarella, basil and tomato sauce. Although that, I just only found 8 little pieces of basil. Luckly the taste was not be influence. The pizza are not regular circle and each one pizza is not regular.
I think that pizza only good at the tomato sauce are not very sour and the mozzarella are sweet.
Also, we had ordered one cup of non-alcohol cocktail. The name of this cocktail called "lemon squash''. I think it just only lemon plus soda water, not the squash. And I do not think it can 68dollars for one cup.  According to this cup, it just only250ml. It absolute not value for it.
The services

The services in here are not very good. It is because the waiter always not in smile. As like as the people who are very sad or what. Although this afternoon tea is my friend treat me. I think I will not come back and I think I'm better go to "red bar+restaurant"in IFC (the waiter are nice and the services are good) or "Al molo ristronate"in Harbour City (the taste are the best).

Poor us...We were obviously being flown!! Another friend was already very hungry as that was 9pm already. We accidentally reached the civic square where a fountain was placed in the center, surrounding with different restaurants.

We were indeed galvanized by the night scene here. It should be a perfect place for couples to have small talk and relax. The scene also touched us. Toight we are going to spend more and enjoy a glass of wine here!

The reason we chose Joia is mainly because its open area. It has quite a large front area when compared with other restaurants. Each table is covered by a huge umbrella~ Thanks to the heater lamp next to me, I didn't feel cold staying outside in winter ;)

After ordering the food, waitress put down a basket of of bread.
There are 3 kinds of bread - crispy bread stick, grain bread & cheese bread.
Cheese bread is the best among 3. They were orange in color, brought the smell of cheddar cheese and served hot. The big basket indeed surprises us. Didn't know our super tiny starter follows..............................

Well. 3 scallops costs $188!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On the menu it was said as scallop salad. I really didn't expect that there were only 3 pieces.............scallops didn't taste extraordinarily rich. I can pan fry one at home by using butter.... the waiteress didn't alert us about the size before. And the bad service was seen by their serving manner: come and put down the dish and leave right away without looking at you. It seems that they are just feeding ? I am sorry to be blunt but they gave us the same feeling.

My friend ordered American Ribeyes ($388). He specially ordered it in half cooked.
When it came, obviously it was overcooked. They were already cut into about 8 slices.
The ribeye was not very juicy. But the fat attached did give a strong favour. 
Again, it tastes similar with a perfectly normal one you ordered in Outback.
My friend even called for ketchup as he felt the meat is not good enough.

If you really need to come to this place for a nice dining atomsphere,
I strongly recommended this lobster spaghetti to you. An italian waiter served this to us (as m friend complained that his order of ketchup was totally ignored for 5 mins...) 
He got a big dish with a paper wrapped square bowl containing the the spaghetti.
According to him, the favour of lobsters can be trapped within the spaghetti by doing so..
He then removed the paper.

The spaghetti is just cooked. Not very soft~ but it has the fresh taste of the lobster.
They are sweet! ;)

Waiters kept coming over after we finished the 3 courses with a menu. 
They are quite pushy in my opinion. We didn't want to order desserts because we expect that the portion will be quite unacceptable.

We were given a dish of cookies and chocolate as the sweets...
Don't taste good at all. Maybe they are treats to our injuries here.. /_\

The meal costs us $1100 in total. I have to admit that I ate very few only..haha
題外話/補充資料: A friend told me that mainlanders are particularly fond of the residential buildings nearby. Elements are usually full of mainland residents to make purchase. I couldn't draw a conclusion on this matter but I did witness many tables of mainlanders when we dined at night. 3 men were smoking CIGAR and laughing nosily in the lawn..........very high profile indeed

由于位置方便,我们又回到了Joia的Sunday Brunch,Buffet Salad 有10幾道冷盤,火腿夠香但可惜與其相配的Honeymelon 不夠甜,Shrimp Salad 的蝦肉質較硬,不夠滑脆,herb的香味也不濃.Artichoke吃的最爽了。Asparagus用了上等材料,細嫩,口感清爽,色彩鮮綠。品了三道主菜,Gnocchi:配的紅醬,Bolongese 類,嫩滑,香濃,但多口有小膩。Clam Fettuccine, basil 香味不夠,橄欖油過多,clam 鮮但被橄欖油味蓋過。Lamb Chop, 汁被肉好吃,肉質偏硬,有筋,中火還是過了。甜品很到位,Tiramisu 和 Cheese Cake都很原版,mini puff把cream staffing 變成了lemon cream,有不同,但很想念cream的口味。
