I remember noticing Foodiewil reviewing here before - to be exact, his experience of the previous shop preceding this location and probably where Bubble Factory is now located. Briefly mentioned was the fact that 順豐排骨麵 shared DNA somewhat to 美味廚, due to the chefs learning their trade from there. Anyway, I do have nostalgic memories of the historical 美味廚 indeed, as I used to eat there decades ago, back dating all the way to the time during which 甜甜屋 and another 生果店 were still operating on th
So anyway, so I did wonder if 順豐排骨麵 carries some sort of continuity in terms of taste to the original.....

小辣担担麵 -
The 陽春麵 noodles here had a good taste but seems too soft. The soup did carried some peanutty rather than a sesame taste, but eitherway it was weak at most but thickened with starches. It also came with some pickles. There is no minced pork on top. Anyway, there seems to be arguments as to what really makes am authentic Sichuan tan-tan mein. Some shops insist it should not have pork, and any that has meat is a modified version, although even in Sichuan itself these days many have pork! Some thinks it should carry both sesame and peanut. In fact, the most basic, original version of Tan Tan Mein is said to not even carry any soup but it was a dry mixed noodles, which is very different to all the versions we are used to eating in HK.
So confusion statements aside, and for what it is, I thought the Tan Tan noodles here to be edible yet not impressive a version. Taste wise it was just lacking that oomph factor any way you consider it. It was very run of the mill stuff, any other shop could make better.
炸排骨 -
This is supposed to be what the original 美味廚 is reknowned for, together with their veggies rice. Having read below Pandamen's review - it was suspected that the re-located shop's version may not be as good as the last Tin Hau shop's version, although perhaps things have improved from then. Anyway, the pork ribs here were thin, with an attractive, slightly sweetish coating and batter which was deep fried. I thought the texture was pretty good, it wasn't too chemically treated. However it is missing any sort of meats taste nor any special marination.

- FOR $32, +$2 for a Mirinda Soft Drink, I think this was ok-enjoyable,
even if not punching above its weight.
- The portioning of pork was meagre too, the noodles quite ordinary yet somehow enjoyable in the end.
- Pork taste and especially thickness wise, its slightly not as good as 美味廚.
美味廚's versions however is less crunchy and more oily. If you ask my suggestion I couldn't decide picking one version over another, as they both have problems of their own. May be if I tried more dishes at both places 1 day in the future, I might be able to come up with a more definitive answer.
- Nevertheless despite its flaws, I think I would potentially come back for a quick meal - it was definitely edible, just perhaps the noodles I ordered let things down a little?
