To celebrate this long holiday, we planned to have yakitori for dinner and my wife suggested a restaurant near her workplace. Hamataki was located at  Fuk Lo Tsun Road,Once we entered the restaurant, it was like we were in Japan, the decor and layout quite similar to Japan's concept of yakitori house. Yuzu soda was gassy and refreshing, with lots of yuzu bits at the bottom. It goes well with those skewers we ordered.

Grilled cheese rice cake - It was grilled till the outside was crispy and when we took a bite, those cheese came flowing out and was cheesy and the seaweed was thin and crispy as well.

Corn skewer was grilled till crunchy and juicy, sweet as well.

Chicken cartilage was grilled till chewy and crunchy, juicy as well.

Bacon skewer was grilled till chewy and slightly tough, with lots of fats in between to make it juicy.

Grilled eel pot rice - The chef was generous with the portion of the eel, which covered the whole pot. Rice was fragrant and chewy and grilled eel was juicy and chewy, marinated with BBQ sauce which was sweet.

Soft grilled spiny lobster with urchin - Lobster meat was grilled till half cooked and it was fresh and chewy in taste. Sea urchin was soft and flavourful, going well with the lobster meat which was sweet.

Lobster was used to make into porridge and slow cooked in it. Porridge was thick in texture and was very flavourful, absorbing the essence of the lobster. Porridge was cooked till soft and chewy, and cabbage and carrot were soft and juicy too.
