The title is self-explanatory. I recently came back from a visit in Barcelona and enjoyed the tapas from Boqueria in Mercado la Boqueria in La Rambla.
Since then, the missus has had the horn for paella and tapas. In the past  6 months, we've tried a few "Spanish" restaurants and the experience is a bit like a European chef cooking Chinese food- it might LOOK a bit like Chinese, but it somehow doesnt taste Chinese.
So you can understand how pleasantly surprised I was to find that most of the tapas and the seafood paella brought me some memories of that summer in 2024.
Let's start with the downers;
- The toilet floors in both the male and female (my wife confirmed) were sticky. I don't want to broach the subject further.
- The Jamon Potato Salad was just that.

Now for the full review:
You will choose 5 tapas in the Set for 2 and apart from the disappointment of said potato salad, the rest were good, with some taking me back to Barcelona. They were as follows;
Tortilla- potato and cheese-filled with chorizo. This is the best I've had in Hong Kong so far. Even missus couldn't stop eating it.
Tomato Anchovies Toast- order this. I don't care if you've never had it. This is divine. This is Barcelona. Try it. If you don't like it, at least you can tell people you've tasted it and have an opinion on it. As Spain/ Basque as you can get.
Truffle Jamon Bikini- well... it's toast with some truffle paste from a jar. If you love truffle, then I guess you could order it. It didn't really do it for me.
Croquetas de Truffle Mushroom- Yeah, it's alright. Try it. You only live once, right?

Main/ Plato Principal;
Seafood Paella (King Prawn, Clams, Mussels, Squid) (+$38 )
While I'm not saying this is the best thing since sliced paella, this at least had fresh seafood and kind of reminded me that paella should have saffron in it. I will say that this isn't authentic but it was damned delicious.

Dessert/ Pastre;
Churros, dark chocolate dip and vanilla ice-cream. I was too full after gorging on the paella and the missus ate almost all of the churros before oddering me the last bite. While she LOVES churros, I must be honest and say the churro was a tad bit oily for my palette and I suspect the oil wasn't hot enough during the frying process. Still, it's better than that baked stuff they sell in Disneyland Hong Kong.
題外話/補充資料: Come here and try it out. It's in Fortress Hill. It's cosy. The boss looks a bit like Ethan Hawke. He's friendly and so are his staff. You can thank yourself for trying this place out. I'm not paid to be kind about this place. I enjoyed it and I'll be back. TRY THE TOMATO ANCHOVIES TOAST.
