I did not book a table here but I took a chance to ask whether anyone cancelled around 6:15pm and someone did. My friend and I immediately switched plans and came here. It was the last table left when we arrived.Their bamboo forest looks quite mysterious especially with the water spray mimicking fog.This place is so popular as their Japan store has already got their Michelin star and hopefully their store in Hong Kong will get it soon.The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. They introduced each set menu and stated the different parts of the wagyu for the different sets. (I only remember our set was sirloin while the basic set was shoulder). We decided to try the medium-priced set dinner "Bamboo".

They kindly told us the order to eat the appetizers. The plum jelly was definitely my favorite. The plum inside was really juicy and if possible I would advise to eat it as a whole. First this will prevent the plum for bursting with juices. Second, if you don't eat it with the jelly, it may be a bit too sour for some but it is really well balanced when you eat it as a whole.

The wagyu spring roll was also a great appetizer as it was filled with wagyu.

The sushi was a lovely surprise. We started with tuna and ended with the uni. However, we both felt that the second sushi in the middle was the best with the small piece of foie gras.

The fish was springy and fresh and the fish broth was rich without being salty. However, by now, we both were anticipating for our wagyu.

We get to see our wagyu sirloin first before its cooked. From reviews in the past, they will cook it at your table but now it seems to be cooked at a fixed area at the restaurant(maybe due to COVID). If you want to watch them prepare it, you can walk to that area(with masks of course) to have a look.

The first wagyu was cooked to a perfect medium and it was just like butter melting in your mouth. The sweetness of the sukiyaki sauce together with the egg yolk and beef was just heavenly.

The second piece of wagyu could be cooked to medium well but I loved their medium so much I decided to keep it medium

The konjac noodles underneath absorbed all the flavors and together with the tender wagyu was such a delightful treat.

We were even impressed by their desserts. Despite they did not look stunning, it defintitely stunned our taste buds in a good way. The apple cinnamon roll had just the right amount of tartness. The daifuku was also great. Instead of the usual mochi, they substituted it with a brown sugar gelatin making it taste even more aromatic without being too sweet.
The more difficult question now is when will I be lucky enough to walk-in again?
