Chesa is a Swiss restaurant located on the first floor of the Peninsula, the most prestigious hotel in Hong Kong. The restaurant is designed to look like a little Swiss mountain chalet which is warm and cozy. 🔥 Both my friend and I ordered the $498 three-course lunch set. Both my friend and I ordered the $498 three-course lunch set. If you go with two courses, the price is $398. A good selection of three or four options on each course is offered.

Three types of breads were served. The one in dark brown colour tasted like pretzels. 🥨 Interesting! However, I was a bit disappointed that the breads were served cold. They would have tasted much better if they were warm.

Appetizer
Sliced organic beef cheek with red wine vinaigrette and endive salad – Flavouring was good. The vinegar matched well with beef, making it less oily.
Cream of mussel with leek and potatoes – I can tell that they used a lot of mussels when preparing the soup. The soup tasted like mussels in liquid form. lol

Entrée
Pan-fried prawns with gnocchi and green asparagus 🦐 – Overall the flavouring tasted fine, but it wasn’t too special. The portion was very large though. I think maybe 8 prawns were included in the dish.
Roasted spring chicken with mixed herbs and daily vegetables – Chicken was cooked perfectly. Very tender.

Dessert
Milk tea mousse, mandarin confit with Peninsula Earl Grey tea sponge 🫖 – Visually appealing. Being served in a beautiful glass bowl, the mousse looked like Saturn with orange and strawberry jam surrounding it.
Baked Alaska, vanilla and strawberry ice cream cake topped with meringue – The sweetness of the ice cream cake contrasted well with the bitterness of the chocolate sauce served together. 🍫

Overall it was a nice experience dining at Chesa. Their lunch set is reasonably priced, albeit being located in a 5-star ⭐️ hotel. No wonder their booking is always full. I had to make a reservation two months in advance for this time’s visit!
