— My first time trying out soft shelled turtle and was very impressed! This is a classic dish found in Hunan cuisine which is highly nutritious and boasts so many benefits to the skin because of the immense amounts of collagen found. The broth is made of 3 simple ingredients: salt, Hunan black pepper, and water, and slowly boiled until a rich, milky white colour. The flavours of the broth are similar between a rich chicken and fish broth, with a creamy consistency and rich umami profile. I totally recommend this if you’re trying out soft shell turtle for the first time!


Pic 2️⃣: 寧鄉花豬肉 / 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐗𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢 - $268 hkd 🌶️🐷
— One of my favourite dishes from the meal! The pork had a great chew to it, with a nice elastic texture to it. It was fragrant, with a aromatic pork flavour. The dish was insanely flavourful with the perfect amount of kick to it. The spices were so fragrant and flavours were really well balanced.


Pic 3️⃣: 瀏陽白沙油豆腐/ 𝐋𝐢𝐮𝐘𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐢𝐒𝐡𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐟𝐮 - $188 hkd
— This dish goes so well with rice! The chicken broth in which the fried tofu slices were braised in was so rich and flavourful, with the oils and aroma of the chicken really coming through. The thinly sliced tofu pieces soaked up all the goodness of the broth so each bite was insanely delicious.


Pic 4️⃣: 雞汁脆筍 / 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐨 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐩 - $198 hkd
— Flavours were similar to the tofu dish, with the chicken soup being less thick and creamy but not skimping on flavour whatsoever. The bamboo shoots were fresh and crisp too


Pic 5️⃣: 桂花椰汁凍 / 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭 𝐏𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬 - $68 hkd 🥥
— Refreshing way to end the meal, the coconut flavours were fragrant and well paired with the floral osmanthus flavours.

— Great way to start, flavours were nice and crisp with a good crunch.
