Since my wife has a sudden craving for spicy food, I suggested Sichuan food. As i walked around, I chanced upon Chuan Wei Xiang. It was located at Tak Man Building, couple of minutes walk from Whampoa MTR.They catered mainly for take-away, with few tables for dine in. Even though the shop was not that big, their menu was comprehensive, offering a wide range of skewer dishes and Sichuan dishes. Hot and sour soup with potato noodle - As the potato noodle absorbed the essence of the soup, thus it was flavourful and chewy in texture. There were ingredients such as mushroom, pork and cheese hotdog. Soup was spicy and sour in taste.
Sichuan style fried rice - It has strong wok hei, with the rice fried till flavourful and chewy. The chef was generous with the portion, able to serve at least 2 person. It was fried with sliced hotdog, egg, bean and carrot and veggie etc.
Grilled cheese rice cake - It was grilled till the skin was crispy and yet the filling inside was cheesy and warm.
We ordered few skewers to go along with our main dishes, such as grilled eel, ox tongue, beef cubes and pork belly. Spice powder were added onto it, thus it was flavourful and spicy and were grilled till chewy and juicy.
