This restaurant is located at 4/F Harbour City, specializing in seafood. It is part of the Maxim Group, and while we have visited the adjacent Singaporean restaurant a few years back, it is our first time coming to 818 The Seafood.Walking past the fish tank at the entrance, the staff leads us to the main dining room, with a few VIP rooms which offer more privacy on the side. The décor is nice, classy but relaxing. The highlight is certainly the harbour view, and we are fortunate to get a table on the window side, allowing us to enjoy the sunset and beautiful night scenery.To start we have Deep-Fried Shrimp Roll 酥炸五香蝦棗 ($78). Thinking it would be like those we have in Chiu Chow restaurant, it turns out to be quite different, more akin to the style for the Cantonese deep-fried oysters with crispy batter. The taste is decent, but the shrimp roll has too much fatty pork in my opinion.We also order a Combo Set ($1,888), which includes Braised Hanasaki Crab with Sarawak White Pepper 砂撈越白胡椒花咲蟹半隻. The hard and spiny shell has been cracked open to make it easy to enjoy, and the meat is sweet, with firm texture, where the white pepper sauce gives fragrance but not spicy. The other dish in the Combo Set is Stir-Fried Chinese Kale with Garlic and Pork Lard 拍蒜油渣炒芥蘭. The vegetables are tender, nicely seasoned, with the pork lard in particular giving rich aromas and flavours. While it looks simple, it is a wonderful dish.Feeling still a bit empty, we also ordered Sauteed and Deep-Fried Flat Rice Noodles with Clams 酥炸花蜆鴛鴦脆皮河粉 ($198) to wrap up. The rice noodles are served in two styles, one deep-fried to offer a crisp texture, the other stir-fried with sauce to remain soft and moist. Cooked together with the large clams so the noodles can absorb the umami flavours, it is delicious. I would prefer less deep-fried and more sauteed noodles, but we applaud the creativity that goes into this dish.Service is decent, with the staff being courteous but did not offer much introduction to the dishes. The bill on the night is $2,428. The customers are basically all tourists and business people, but I think it is a good place for bigger groups to enjoy fresh seafood. Not exactly wow, but can try it out.

是次朋友慶生請食飯,特別相約黃昏飽餐-頓。煙熏片皮鴨超級好味,到店必吃之物👍🏻其他菜式亦精緻美味,雖然菜式並不便宜,但味道及賣相搭夠滿分。主打海鮮菜式,魚、蟹、大聖子非叫不可。簡單的小菜都非常美味,皮脆肉嫩多汁,酸甜掛汁惹味又醒神,絕不油膩。😋可能包廳關係,服務亦相當到位,最開心是埋單時可以儲某集團的積分。

There are lots of parking in harbour city and with lift all the way up to 4/F, wheelchair is ok. This restaurant is a decent restaurant with very excellent ambience. They have casual dining setting and fine dining setting with VIP rooms. Some tables have big window on the side with seaview. Nice view…. They specialize in seafood dishes but they do have many other dishes for selection in the menu. Normal corkage fee is charged but if you order one from them, it can be free for your own bottle. The cake cutting fee will not be charged if the cake is bought from one of maxim‘s group cake shop like maxim’s, arome, cova etc…. otherwise, there‘s a fee. The dishes we order are fantastic. Except for the beef dish, it’s a bit salty, all others are tasty. The one I like most is the crab in fish soup with rice noodle. It‘s yummy… They serve it hot and the soup with rice noodle is delicious. The tofu dish is impressive too with porcini mushroom sauce. The price performance is not bad. It is definitely a bit higher than normal restaurant but with this ambience, service and food quality. It’s worth… Service is excellent and waiters are helpful. They have restroom inside the restaurant. It‘s clean & tidy. I’ve been here twice and my overall impression is very good.

前天致電訂枱飲茶,因要招待訪港友人,要求安排有靚景的枱,接待姐姐著我11時半到,於是通知友人早點到。誰知昨天到了酒樓后,帶位姐姐卻說用膳時間只有1.5小時。跟侍應表明訂枱時對方並沒有事先聲明,否則不會選作聚舊,她卻表示要跟其上司溝通。期間有侍應兩度要求我們坐个半鐘便要交枱,我們當然拒絕。最後大約1:40分再有部長走來要求我們交枱,堅稱訂枱時必有講明用膳時間,還不斷反問是誰幫我們訂枱。當我說出名稱後,她便好像要找那人算帳一般,悻悻然地走開。當時店內人潮已退並有空枱,真不明白她刻意騷擾客人用餐是為了什麼?除了服務十分差勁,端上枱的點心有部分都只是微温,影響口感。桂花糕是現成的甜品,居然花半句鐘才端上枱,之前追單時侍應還說這款甜品製作需時!這店之前試過預早一周訂4人枱吃晚飯,只安排一張小得可憐並擠迫一角的蚊型枱,結果連幾个餸菜也放不下。再經昨天一役,以後誓不幫襯!
