My bestie got married and she treated her family and friends to this extravagant Chinese-inspired wedding luncheon. It happened to be Tin Hau festival on the same day so the newlyweds specially ordered from the vegetarian menus. This restaurant has spectacular views and great selection of ambient music. The toothpicks were hidden in the red matchbox and that’s a very playful props. Seaweed cashew nuts were very strongly seasoned and salty.
We ordered extra dishes after finishing the banquet menu. The iconic berg of lotus root was a showstopper. Deep fried, crispy, thin and translucent, flavoured with Sichuan pepper and herbs, beautifully assembled on the sugar tree. On top of that, we had kimchi turnip cakes and custard buns.

The dim sum trio has three colour of goodies: a black puff pastry; a red beetroot dumpling; and a green zucchini mushroom dumpling flavoured with preserved Chinese olives.
Vegan sweet & sour pork was actually deep fried lion’s mane mushroom cooked with both fresh and dried pineapples.
Chinese cabbage soup had Yunnan wild matsurake mushroom inside, and a bamboo fungus delicately rolled with snow swallow.
The braised bamboo pith with tofu was a surprise, it’s my first time trying bamboo pith- it’s a very juicy spongy pillowy plant that was able to absorb all the sauce and essence in the dish.
Had a last cup of genmaicha osmanthus tea, and the bride was ready to embark on her marriage! Congrats!
