A while ago, I discovered this wonderful dumpling place in Sham Shui Po. It was probably the best I've ever had. However, the area was not really that clean and there was no air conditioning. It then closed and I was sad as it seems all my favorite places close.BUT ! It has returned in Cheung Sha Wan! Boyfriend and I were in the area and stopped here for dinner. Menu is in Chinese only. But if I recall, the old shop had English menu as well. There is no 10% service charge and it's cash only.
Ginger Fried Pork with Noodles ($35). Boyfriend ordered this. The pork was grilled and marinaded in the sauce so I felt it was a bit on the salty side but boyfriend said it was perfect.
Pork and Chives Dumplings with Noodles ($29). I ordered this and I'm so glad. Even though they have upgraded their shop, it's still the best dumplings in Hong Kong. The dumpling skin was not too thick and not too thin to have it fall apart. The filling was plentiful and was seasoned perfectly. They make them in the store as I saw them still wrapping them at the table near by.
Minced Fish Dumplings ($16). We ordered this from the last shop so we ordered this here to share. The meat was firm and fresh. Nicely seasoned so it wasn't fishy in taste. This was the small size and was quite a lot. I wonder how much you get if you order large?
Panfried Pork and Chive Dumplings and Pork and Cabbage Dumplings ($34 for eight. Can mix two flavors). We chose to pan fry a few of the dumplings and wow. Perfectly fried. They weren't oily. The skin was crisp as both sides were fried. The filling was plentiful. Though I like the pork and chive more but then again, it's my favorite dumpling flavor.
I loved this place when it was in Sham Shui Po. But now it's cleaner and with air conditioning. The staff was really friendly. Just like their original location. I saw they also have another location in Sham Shui Po. So, this is their second branch. I wonder how that one is?
