So I was invited by my sake buddy to get dinner in this newly opened Kappo Cuisine place, looks like it is a newly opened commercial building, walking distance from MTR and a very nice view.We are here a little early so I get to enjoy the view while waiting for my friends, it was a stunning harbour view and I couldn’t stop taking photos😂So let’s talk about food, we are at the counter seats , and 8-courses menu was served.Liked their starter using Parma ham to pair with three kinds of Fruits incl

So let’s talk about food, we are at the counter seats , and 8-courses menu was served.

Liked their starter using Parma ham to pair with three kinds of Fruits including Amela tomato , Kyoho grapes and Japanese Melon, the tomato and melon on match so well with the ham and the one with grape has a very unique taste , since the grape taste a bit like wine so I am like having a slice of ham and some grape at the same time!

There is another small starter with snow crab meat that goes wjth tomato jelly, very wise to use the citrus to replace vinegar) and served with eggplant curry mouse, this one is very refreshing!

Sashimi they have a few kinds including Uni, Tsubugai, and they are fresh enough so they definitely get points picking ingredients, and the other two sashimi item that impressed me the most is their Buri and Toro!

They do apple wood smoked Buri, they are fresh and with the smoky taste definite take it to the next level, I can have a few more pieces for sure🤤

The Otoro one is also very nice, I gotta admit I am never a fan of wasabi so the wasabi foam is not my friend but they wanted to keep the seaweed crispy hence making it a seaweed tempura is really smart, it’s super crunchy when we eat it after taking photos so it is nice but also a very smart move.

The soup is a homemade soybean soup with chicken and crispy bean curd, I like it nice and warm with a very story bean taste ,the bowl that they use are hand painted one making this soup very special.

The chawanmushi that they serve is like a luxury edition, with fish maw and foie gras! I had a complaint on it as the foie gras is too generous with their portion, a very big piece! And the drips making the egg custard very tasty , not to mention it was very silky for the egg custard!

Tempura I think it worth some time to write , all the items are on the creative side, and I think they are probably the only one that served fish maw tempura, crispy outside and very juicy inside.

The sardine with scallop and white fish paste used curry salt for seasoning has bring us a very appealing aroma! The Botan Abi and shiso one has very good appearance as it topped with vaccine and lobster miso.

The Main dish we have was wagyu beef with mini onions pumpkin and truffle sauce, we were told to eat it with salt first for our first bite, and then the truffle sauce, the vegetables are so good and the beef was nicely cooked, worked well both with salt or with the truffle, love it!

Last item before sweet treat was indeed a homemade pasta with sea urchin and seaweed sauce, the texture of the pasta taste somewhat taste like ramen! With sea urchin and the seaweed sauce it is like an umami bomb to me but I am just too full with all the food🥰

Part one of the sweet treat was tofu ice cream with cheese and peach jam as a topping, they made the ice cream in house , I think I have room for another scoop, but they already feed us with too much of food already!

Part two is their homemade sweet dumplings and Matcha, they tried to reduce the sugar amount but still taste sweet so the matcha appeared at the right time to balance it out, and bringing this meal to an end.

We had a few sake to do some pairing with the food , I think me and my friends picked some good ones which went well with the food we had tonight , with the food and the view, will be back for more visits soon, would be taking Panda 🐼 for. Some lunch so we can enjoy the view with Kappo cuisine. I am still a huge fan of sushi omakase but Kappo cuisine is also something that worth to try, somehow similar to kaiseki, exploring the Japanese food culture has so much fun and there is still a lot for me to work on ❤️
