This is the first time I have been to din tai fung outside of taiwan however the taste is fairly similar and for the quality your getting I don't mind spending a little extra for the experience.We arrived at the end of lunch period so we were seated almost immediately as the lunch rush seems to end 1 hour before lunch finished.I basically took some people who were mainly use to Japanese style Gyoza and never really experienced steam Chinese style dumplings before and they were basically hooked,

We arrived at the end of lunch period so we were seated almost immediately as the lunch rush seems to end 1 hour before lunch finished.

I basically took some people who were mainly use to Japanese style Gyoza and never really experienced steam Chinese style dumplings before and they were basically hooked, when they found out some of our dumplings broke they immediately replaced the dumplings.

Funny thing is we did not say anything about our dumplings bursting, I think the white cloth they had under the dumplings were designed to absorb any liquid to show the chefs if any dumplings bursted.

The broth based dumplings in the smaller bowls were refreshing with various toppings however it was the original pork dumplings that really shines. For wrapping that is so thin it is impressive it doesn't burst as you pick up the dumplings. As mentioned earlier ding tai fung is so confident in their dumplings if you claim any has burst they will replace them on the spot.

The juice / soup inside their famous dumplings didn't give make me bloated at it was almost like comfort food.

Since it was towards closing time and my trace buddies had limited time we couldn't try more but I'll definitely come back next time to try the other menu items.
