After seeing so many positive reviews on this new hip restaurant at the Landmark, I had quite high expectations from this place. However, I was really underwhelmed by my brunch experience at Ami/Wood Bar last weekend 😔
I had the chu-toro tuna salad, slow-cooked egg with red wine sauce, the yellow chicken and cheese platter. The chicken was one of the worst I’ve had- so overcooked that every bite was dry and chewy. I couldn’t finish 1/3 of the dish even though it’s not that big! The only okay dish was the slow-cooked egg as it tasted quite good with the red wine sauce.
Service-wise, everyone was quite friendly but the service was not up to fine-dining standards. For instance, I wasn’t even told the kinds of cheese on the cheese platter or which one to start with, or what their bread or sauce was 🤔
Overall an underwhelming experience, partly because of my high expectations i.e. my bad 😇 I’d prefer SOMM for a similar dining experience and price range!
