when you mention tin hau and noodles shop, you automatically think of the great sister wah and her equally good neighbor who's always a good backup for the long queues. however, tin hau station noodle is more like your clothing shop owner Tim, who tells everyone he used to work at saville row, but now selling factory made suits. now for the food. well the fair statement is that the food did the job, I'm full. but it also prompted me to write this. i ordered brisket in ho-fun soup, and a bowl of
now for the food. well the fair statement is that the food did the job, I'm full. but it also prompted me to write this. i ordered brisket in ho-fun soup, and a bowl of dumplings. ho-fun was the rehdrated type you find in pho eateries, and the brisket was full of chewy tendon. the dumplings were large with a lot of filling, but is not the traditional "fung shing" type (with shoots, fungus and prawns), but made from a northern Chinese white pastry with garlic chives a minced pork filling. I had spat out 2 pieces of chewy cartilage from the dumplings.
as for the hygiene, it was better than a tai Pai tong but with no less vulgar speak from the waitresses. I apologise for typos as I'm trying to waft away a small fly while I give Tim this review.
overall the experience was just about satisfactory, but not overwhelming. definitely not good enough for tin hau.
