I rarely visit Yuen Long. If it wasn't because of an upcoming event that is gonna be host at Yuen Long, I might not even get to know about this famous store. I was here with a few of my friends at a late afternoon on a Saturday. Not being too sure if we had our food as dessert or dinner, we ordered quite a few plates including mini sausages, chicken wings, steamed vermicelli roll (腸粉)and the signature dessert leung-fan (涼粉). To be honest, among the things we ordered, I thought the best was none other than the extremly nice steamed vermicelli roll!! Though I hvn't tried the chicken wings, but the signature dessert wasn't too much of a surprise despite it being the selling point of the store. The leung-fan was huge (as seen from other photos below). It cost us HKD$63 for the huge leung-fan bowl, piling up with lots of fresh fruits to make it a healthy yet chilling dessert at this very summer. However, the leung-fan was nothing too special to me
The fruits were very refreshing, I must admit..but surely I did not come all the way here to expect having fresh fruits when I could have had them somwhere back at the city?!
Therefore I think steamed vermicelli roll (腸粉) stood out from the rest!!

The very soft and chewy steamed vermicelli roll, coated with some sesame, along with sweet sauce, chilli sauce and peanut butter by the sides of the plate, were all wrapped around by a piece of grease-proof paper. The highlight of this dish, to me, was not about food but the small bamboo sticks! When I was young, I had lots of steamed vermicelli roll (腸粉) that was presented in this form that allowed me to eat it in the wet market or dai-pai dong (大排檔). I couldn't help but to recall my good old childhood times.

It was quite a surprise to come out of the store feeling extremly satisfied with a random dish. To me, the leung-fan was no longer an attraction but definitely yes for the steamed vermicelli roll.
