Suggested by my friend to spend our Friday evening with some Mexican goodness. Restaurant was definitely well designed with cactus and mexician posters. Like the semi- outdoor design for pet friendliness. We were arranged a seat at the end of the restaurant which ended up difficult to seek service. Tacos are kind of their restaurant signatures which we ordered four. Mine were all-veggie and devil taqueria special. Tacos were nicely served on taco rack which was claimed to be super hot, watch out while consuming. All-veggie was fresh and crunch, cheese added a hint of saltiness. Devil taqueria special was not as expected that spicy. Very mild kick. I guess I was too prepared for the spiciness. Worth for a try and the taste of taqueria. Tortilla was soft and warmed up. It was very delicious but for sure end up to be a messy eater.
Mozzarella sticks and onion rings were okay. Nothing special, like usual pub food. Crunchy as it should be while lightly seasoned batter.
Grilled cactus steak was good. Got cool up easily. It had to be consumed right served. Love the promising grilled mark with the topped diced veggies. Cactus was still moist and easily cut off. Well seasoned with a hint of sweetness from saltiness. Love the diced veggies for some freshness and crunch. Accompanied by the salsa which gave some acidity. Not bad.
Sausage platter was okay. As expected, few variety sausages with two pork belly bacons served. Very meaty, greasy and heavy. Not a big fan. My companion enjoyed it anyway.
We ordered their pancake with cajieta and added pistachio ice cream as dessert. Cajieta is something similar to dulce de lache. Personally dont prefer serving with pistachio because the Cajieta was well enough to gave some sweetness and smoky flavour. Pancakes were fluffy and homemade. Pretty small portions. Pistachio ice cream was okay, not big wow. Pretty over-priced.
There was a live music on Friday nights. Funny that they were performing Taiwanese/ Cantonese songs at a Mexican restaurant. All in all, restaurant was okay. Would suggest to come for their tacos, which were the stars tonight.
