One of my clients recommended me a fine restaurant that have a contemporary chic ambience to go along with fine food. Upon hearing that, I decided to bring my wife there for dinner tonight. Foxglove was located at Printing House, just opposite Landmark Central. As to my client’s words, it really matched my expectations. When we reached the entrance, the wall suddenly shifted sideward, like a hidden place. It was dim in lighting, with seating arrangement comfortable for most. They served Cantones
As to my client’s words, it really matched my expectations. When we reached the entrance, the wall suddenly shifted sideward, like a hidden place. It was dim in lighting, with seating arrangement comfortable for most. They served Cantonese cuisine and dim sum, with Western feel.
Osaka Sour – It was cocktail mixed with whisky, dry sherry, plum wine, lemon and eye white. It was refreshing and sour in taste, with a slight touch of sweetness.
Chinese mushroom with aged vinegar – Mushroom was cooked till soft and crispy and the sauce was cooked till perfection. It was flavourful and sweet, with slight vinegar taste.
Soup – The chef was generous with the ingredients, with mushroom, bamboo fungus, locust honey fruit and lotus seed in it. The soup was very clear and nourishing, absorbing the essence of the ingredients.
Alaskan crab steamed with Chinese wine and glass noodles – The presentation was done nicely, with the crab shell cooked till bright red in colour. Crab meat was very fresh and sweet, absorbing the Chinese wine taste. Glass noodles was soft and smooth too.
Wagyu beef fried rice with spring onion – It was cooked till very flavorful and chewy, and the beef was tender and juicy.
Desserts - After we have finished our meal, we were served with deep fried custard milk roll, steamed red date cake and deep-fried sesame glutinous rice dumpling. Milk roll was fried till soft and crispy, with strong milk taste. Red date cake was very chewy and sticky and Sesame dumpling was very sweet and chewy, with strong black sesame taste.
Iron buddha (Oolong tea) – In the end, we ordered a cup of oolong tea. It was refreshing and fragrant, with strong oolong taste. It helped to digest those food.
