Tried this restaurant tonight with my wife as all the others were pretty full by the time we arrived ... ...Tried the chef salad (fresh vegetables... but more sauce is needed ), mussels cooked in white wine (nice and hot, with ~10 pieces per dish, mussels reasonably fresh), crabmeat angelhair (spicy though a bit on the oily side) and the sea urchin seafood squid ink noodle (very nice and filling dish, the best dish of the night). I must say that the overall food quality was acceptable and some items were better than expectated. The one BIG problem with the place was the environment - quite crowded and noisy, with a decor which looked more like a fast food shop than an italian restaurant. Also, the open kitchen design probably contributed to the less than ideal hygienic condition and the thick "kitchen" smell in the air which was a bit suffocating at times... ...
Certainly worth a try if you happen to be around and would like to have just a simple quick meal. But I guess for the same price range, there are other choices around the place. For me, I might come back next time if I happen to be at Shatin and run out of ideas on what to eat .... ...
