Came to 上水 for "Bai Nin" and our friend recommended this restaurant for dinner, which turned out to be a great choice ! We (4 adults and 1 child) tried the following items:1) 川貝秋梨燉白肺湯 - as soup is one of the "signature items" of this restaurant, we decided to start our meal with this item. Came to 上水 for "Bai Nin" and our friend recommended this restaurant for dinner, which turned out to be a great choice ! We (4 adults and 1 child) tried the following items:

1) 川貝秋梨燉白肺湯 - as soup is one of the "signature items" of this restaurant, we decided to start our meal with this item. The soup was really quite nice, wiith lots of ingredients and really sweet and delicious, with just a hint of bitterness from the 川貝; they also added pieces of chicken in it which also enhanced the taste
The 白肺 was cleaned meticulously and each one of us had a large chunk of the yummy stuff. Portion was ok - we all had at least 1 bowl. The only minor point was that it was not steaming hot when served; nonetheless, this is one great soup you wouldn't want to miss !

2) Next came the 脆皮燒鵝(半隻), another great choice with cripsy skin and tender, juicy meat. The soy sauce that came with the goose was marvellous - the perfect sauce to go with rice ! We could have finished 1 bowl of rice each just with this sauce alone ! We even had some extras left behind for take away at the end ... ...


3) Next came the 籠仔糯米蒸滑雞, which came in a large bamboo "container", the portion of which exceeded even our wildest imagination ... ... the chicken was steamed with the gelatinous rice and all the nice juice just seeped into the rice ... ... this is one heavenly dish ! The chicken was also nicely cooked with tender meat, and we although we know this could not be 活雞, still the the taste and texture was fine. Each of us had 1-2 bowls at least but we still could not finish the whole dish ... ... again, we felt obliged to take away the left overs. This is another must -order item in our opinion


4) When the 蒜子上湯浸西洋菜 came, all of us uttered a sigh of relief as we now had a welcome break from the heavy dishes ... ... the dish was fine with a heavy garlic flavor, and the vegetables were cooked just right. In short, simple dish but nicely executed.

5) The final item of the night was 石鍋醬燒牛柳粒, an item clearly with strong korean influences, this one was also very nice as they used beef tenderloin, with a perfect blend of meat and fat, the texture just resembled the beef ribs used in korean dishes ... ... with a tasty sauce featuring onion and green / red peppers, at last we managed to finish the last piece of rice in our bowls ... ...


6) Lastly we were offered tangerines as dessert, which was also perfect as by now we were all stuffed to the neck and were obviously in need of some items to help with the digestion ... ...

Overall a most enjoyable dining experience. Considering that this was Nin Cho 2, we think the service was acceptable and the price very reasonable. We would definitely come back again for more if we happen to be in 上水 again.
