Congrats for the new 2-star Michelin. Well deserved one as I expected!! L'Envol is probably the best place for lunch, even for dinner, in the Wan Chai area.Their lunch menu offers 3-5 courses for you to choose depending on your appetite with great flexibility that you could choose 1 main with 4 desserts or 1 main with 4 starters. Only looking at this name, my heart is already stolen❣️ Look carefully at the blistered surface👀 You would see the small bubbles all over the loaf🥖then you know they made it right and nice. Its exterior is crunchy but not too hard while the core is moist and chewy. This sourdough is so so so good that I have to control myself not to finish the whole loaf 🤭 The butter is very good offering mild buttery flavour to enhance the sourdough flavour.

The classic 3-piece amuse bouche here. The smoke salmon with wasabi and gingerbread is very Christmasy and delicious that I love a lot. While the spoonful of Alaska crab🦀 with paragon is surprisingly refreshing that wake my appetite for the courses (actually for even more bread 😂). The last cube is artichoke jelly. It is good but more like a palate cleanser for the next dish indeed.

The cream is definitely the hero here. It is savoury, smooth and light that leaves me no guilt to eat more of it‼️The shallot inside adds some amazing texture on top of the crisp. The cream is very nice to go with the bread as well. This makes me consume two more pieces again🤣 Looking back, I am amazed by myself that I could still finish so many food later😆

I love frog leg so much for its unique flavour if done right. The flavour is like chicken🐓 with mild seafood note🦞Absolutely a special flavour profile that you can hardly find on other ingredient😋 Pair with pastis cream and tomato butter sauce, it is absolutely delicious!

The long-standing starter for Chef Elzer with several evolutions over a decade💫The tuna is coated with 5 secret spices on and then seared lightly. It brings the strong aroma out from the spices to the tuna. I forget what’s on the top, probably some dried shellfish but I do remember I love the pairing. The vinegar sauce is superb with a Japanese kick🇯🇵 It would be definitely tempting to have it with some soba noodle!

A dish that hardly goes wrong and hardly be surprising. But they manage to do it👍🏼 They use smoked haddock fish sauce to give the foie gras some extra umami which is so amazing. The confit of chestnut and vegetable beneath absorbs the grease and the sauce🤯 That is like the flavour of heaven that I drool for it even I am just typing it.


Finally the main which I struggle so long when ordering. Wanted to try the deer pithivier and the roast but ended up choose the standard ones as I wish to leave more surprise for my dinner visit😋 (though seeing no hope to be soon ☠️)

The smokey meat 🥩is all you need on a cold winter day. It warms your mouth to your stomach and to your heart. The sauce is their secret weapon. The pepper corn sauce with shallot confit and caper jus has some earthy and nutty flavour that matches perfectly with the meat! The heart ❤️ shape potato crisp is just so surprising too💕

This amazing fish is cooked on bone with layer of maitake duxelles. Guess Chef quite likes produce from Japan🤔An amazing doneness that the fillet is firm but smooth. Love the cepes on side so much that it has absorbed the yellow wine flavour to elevates its earthy hint. Overall, a delicate and well balanced dish🐟

For dessert part, we simply ordered all their desserts on menu as I could not choose which to eat😎And I feel like this is the best decision ever!

This is the only dessert that I have a glimpse of wonder of getting it or not. But it turns out to be my favourite among all☺️ It is literally “clementines in different textures” including foam, jelly, crunch and juice. It is absolutely amazing. Different forms have its own sweetness and flavour that you experience complexity even though they are made from the same ingredient. It is just insane🤯 and I have no doubt why this would be their signature dessert. The winter honey ice cream added is so light and fragrant that push the dessert to another level. Can definitely just come back for this👍🏼

It is a mille feuille re-imagined by Pastry Chef Mandy cause why not. It is fluffy and crispy. Stuffed with maple syrup Chantilly, it is literally a role of joy. The hazelnut ice cream is delicious but somehow a bit overpowering the lightness of the pear. So I chose to eat them separately😋

Amazing chocolate Gavotte with mushroom infused! The fungus🍄brings out the earthy tone of the chocolate to make the flavours more complex while the pairing smoked ice cream adds some mild cigar flavour kick that lingers in your mouth. The caramelised walnut is super crunchy that I feel like eating a popcorn🍿

A wonderful dessert-trio that satisfies my cravings to dessert. The quality of the dishes is just beyond expectation.

When they move the dessert trolley to our table, it is just WOW🤩 Even though you have already expected it after seeing million times of its photos on social media before, you still could have the pure happiness and excitement of getting it.

I am super full after all the courses but I still manage to try almost everything😎 My favourite is definitely the cinnamon flan. It is smooth and rich with spice flavour lingers in the palate. The selection is so diverse and extensive that you won’t feel heavy or bored as each one keeps surprising you😛

Also, the interior design is so elegant and decent through out the entire hotel, especially in L’Envol. Just love André’s style so badly. It just gives you a feel of home and elegancy at the same time. Can’t wait to be back to enjoy another degustation🥺
