My family has a tradition of having dim sum for lunch on New Year's Day.  As we couldn't book my grandma's default favorite restaurant this year (the phone lines were completely jammed when they started taking New Year's Day reservations on Boxing Day), I knew I had to find a restaurant that would impress her!  I remembered that godbro XO was very impressed with Imperial Treasure Fine Chinese Cuisine, so I recommended the restaurant to the rest of the family, and we made a reservation for the second time slot on New Year's Day which was 1:15.
As soon as I told XO that I booked Imperial Treasure for our dim sum lunch, he told me that we must reserve the glutinous rice suckling pig as well!
We didn't request a VIP room, but when we arrived on New Year's Day, we were seated in a shared room where there was only one other table sharing the space with us.
As soon as we were seated, our server, Kathy, confirmed with us that we reserved the suckling pig, and the suckling pig is roasted according to our time of arrival and not pre-roasted early.

The restaurant had a typical Chinese place setting, and their chopsticks were branded with the restaurant name.

The lazy Susan was set with a few pairs of serving chopsticks without us requesting them.

One of the guests that day was my aunt's brother, and he requested this special chrysanthemum tea.  There was an up-charge for this tea, but it was not overpriced as the tea was very soothing and definitely out of the ordinary.

I was sitting next to my uncle who was doing the ordering that day, so I was able to request a few items that seemed interesting!

Steamed Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gau): Everyone at the table were saying how good the har gau was!  The outer shell has the perfect texture where it was thin and soft but not mushy and sticky.

Baked Pineapple Bun with BBQ Pork: The pineapple bun topping was absolutely crunchy and crumbled apart as I bit into it, and the char siu filling was equally delicious!

Steamed BBQ Pork Bun (Char siu bau): This steamed BBQ pork bun was delicious too, but compared to the baked one, it lacked the wow factor!  It was still excellent but overshadowed by the other dim sum dishes.

Deep Fried Glutinous Dumpling (Harm Sui Gok): One of my favorites when it comes to dim sum, and this was top notch!  Crispy on the outside and chewy and sticky on the inside, and filled to the brim with delectable pork filling!

Deep Fried Yam Puff (Woo gok): The crust was perfect--light and flaky, and a crisp crunch when you bit into the puff!
There was no pool of oil residue underneath both of the deep fried dumplings which is a scarcity nowadays!
Pan Fried Turnip Cake

Pan Fried Turnip Cake: The delicate flavor of turnip was not overpowered by too much seasoning, and the turnip was cut into thick juliennes, so the texture of the turnip cake was a combination of the soft cake and soft yet toothsome bite of the turnip.

Crispy Bitter Gourd with Salted Egg Yolk: I don't eat bitter gourd unless it's masked by salted egg flavor, and this bitter gourd was filled with salted egg flavor!  The bitter gourd retained a slight crunch and was coated in salted egg yolk that is cooked to a crisp!

Steamed Rice Roll with Shrimp (Shrimp Cheung Fun): The rice rolls were cut into pieces where each person would get their own shrimp!  The rice roll wrap was thin and smooth, and the shrimp was bouncy!

Steamed Crispy Rice Roll with Shrimp: This is an excellent innovative dim sum from the restaurant.  There's an added layer of crunchy wrapping between the rice roll and the shrimp, so it added a crunch factor to the texture of the rice roll!

Roasted Boneless Suckling Pig with Glutinous Rice (Half): As soon as I bit into the skin of the suckling pig, I knew why godbro XO insisted on us pre-ordering this dish!  Never in my life have I had such a crispy piece of suckling pig skin!  Not only was it just crunchy, but it was light and crispy as well.  It was like a perfect combination of the crunchy texture of ordinary suckling pig skin with the crispiness of crackling!  Even though the pig skin was the star of the dish, the glutinous rice was very delicious as well!  It wasn't overly mushy and was seasoned just right!

Boiled Seasonal Vegetables: The seasonal vegetable was choy sum, and it came with a slightly sweetened soy sauce.  If you prefer a less greasy vegetable, then this would be ideal.

Sauteed Chinese Kale with Ginger & Chinese Wine: The kailan, in contrast to the choy sum, was much crunchier, and since it's sauteed in ginger and wine, it had a heavier seasoned flavor.  For a sauteed vegetable, this dish wasn't too greasy compared to other restaurants.

E-fu Noodle with Crab Roe & Crab Meat in Soup (One and a Half Portion): There was a good amount of crab roe in the noodles, yet it wasn't too greasy!  The noodles were relatively al dente for a Chinese preparation.  This noodle is my uncle's favorite, and he gave a thumbs up!

Steamed Custard Bun: The custard inside the bun was flowing like lava, and it tasted like liquid gold (well, I don't know how liquid gold actually tastes like, but this was absolutely delicious!)
Thank goodness that grandma's normal pick for New Year's Day dim sum lunch was not available, or else we wouldn't have been able to check out Imperial Treasure!  Imperial Treasure is definitely a treasure!  The food was excellent, the service was good (plates were changed throughout the meal without us asking and empty dishes were bussed away promptly), and the price point wasn't outrageous ($300 per person)!  Grandma was so impressed that we came back within the same week to treat family friends to dinner, and grandma isn't easily impressed!
