My friends and I arrived at Check In Taipei (Harbour City) around 8:30pm on a Saturday night. We were promptly seated at a horseshoe-shaped table and kindly reminded that last call would be at 9pm. The food arrived very quickly and was served piping hot, with the exception of the eggplant, drinks, and mochi. We ordered a couple of dishes to share, including the:1. Sakura Shrimp Eggplant (9/10) 2. Lu Rou Taiwanese Lettuce (8/10)3. Century Egg Pork Floss Egg Floss (7/10)4. Mentaiko

9. Mochi Pineapple Cake Egg Tart (10/10)
For desserts, the Mochi Pineapple Cake Egg Tart simply “wowed” us. It offered an extraordinary blend of flavors and textures that I had never experienced before in a single bite. What I appreciated most was its balanced sweetness, a touch of butteriness, and a light, fluffy texture. We were so impressed that we wanted to order seconds, but sadly, they had run out just before closing time. The Matcha Milk Mochi was interesting, similar to warabi mochi, with a remarkable texture that was both incredibly fluffy and non-sticky. The ideal way to savor it was by using a fork and knife, and spreading extra powder on it, allowing for a perfect balance of flavors and satisfying eating experience.
Overall, I think the Harbour City location is an excellent spot for lunch or dinner, and seating and quality of the food were both beyond my initial expectation. Previously, I had heard from a few friends that the now-closed Central location didn't quite measure up in terms of quality. I will check-back-in soon to try some of their other small appetizer dishes and reorder the egg tart. The servers were very attentive and polite. 👍👍👍
