I am an expat living in HK and haven't dared to explore local restaurants in my residential area for the last one year mainly due to language barriers and hygiene issues. However, this restaurant in a small alleyway of Tai Kok Tsui is a hidden gem. I usually have sushi in Sen Ryo because it provides quality sushi at affordable prices. I usually have sushi in Sen Ryo because it provides quality sushi at affordable prices. Nevertheless I always wanted to find out a place where I can have fresh sushi & sashimi as a la carte.. And I came across this restaurant.
I have tried to dine in twice and take-away three times. I am always satisfied with their quality of raw fish(especially salmon). Apparently uni is from Canada and salmon is from Norway. Octopus and scallop are from Japan- the chef told me. Their rice is not amazing in the sense that it does not live up to the standard of a fine Japanese restaurant, but it is good enough.
No english menu provided. But a lot of pictures- so not much difficulty in placing an order.
My favourite menus are premium chirashi sushi (88HKD), grilled chicken wing (18HKD, one of the best I've tasted... No chicken smell.. Very crispy and chewy outside and succulent inside) and Salmon sushi set (torched salmon, raw salmon, salmon roe sushi, salmon mini rolls).
Very clean exterior and exterior- hygiene not to be worried about. The only downside is they take cash only- no credit card accepted. They instead do not charge service fees which is great. For less than 100HKD, you can have a decent Japanese meal here. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi and sashimi.
