They will swoop down on you minutes later to take your order, and whisk your bowls away when you finish. "Efficient" is an understatement. I frequent Honeymoon, as a relatively inexpensive place from which to enjoy both hot and cold Hong Kong style desserts ranging from durian pancakes to hot sesame soup. While they have expensive options such as Swallow's Nest, most tend to order the more humble, like sago or grass jelly. Most of the dessert is ready to serve and is simply a matter of heating up or spooning out in various combinations, adding to efficiency without compromising quality too much (although granted, if you had extremely refined tastes, you may wish to get your Hong Kong desser from elsewhere).
On this occasion, I ordered the Milk Pudding with Mango [芒果鮮奶樂] ($31). It's like a richer, sweeter tasting version of tofu pudding [豆腐花], with fresh chopped mango and sauce which is neither too sweet nor sour. Being one of the richer desserts, the serving size can make you rather full if you've already had a sizable dinner, but it is pretty hard to stop eating.
My companion ordered a Coconut Milk Sago with Grass Jelly [椰汁西米露凉粉] ($29). He commented that it was a little sweeter compared to his previous experiences, but it was about right for me. Cool and refreshing, the coconut milk surprisingly works with the grass jelly. While the appearance could have been more attractive, as mentioned earlier, part of Honeymoon's value lies in their amazing efficiency.
