I’m a big fan of Lady M's cakes, so I was excited to try their new Strawberry Crepe Cake. Unfortunately, this particular offering didn't quite hit the mark for me. While the presentation was as beautiful as always, the cake itself was just too sweet overall. The layers of delicate crepe were nicely balanced with the strawberry filling, but the level of sweetness was simply overwhelming. It overpowered the natural flavor of the fresh strawberries and made the entire dessert feel one-note and cloy
At the premium price point Lady M commands, I expected a more nuanced and balanced flavor profile. Instead, I found myself wishing I had just stuck with one of their standard classic cakes, which I know showcase their exceptional skills as pastry chefs.
