As a big fan of Oedo, I feel it is necessary to comment on Scout's review too. Sashimi is not supposed to be served very cold, as Scout described. certainly it shouldn't be warm like rice, but not cold either. Sashimi is supposed to be kept at 4 degrees celsius but while it's being prepared, it will be exposed to room temperature and the chef's hands so it will become slightly warmer - not cold. So by the time you eat the sashimi, it's not supposed to be very cold, that is unless you have ordere
Also, I agree with Samantha that Oedo's waitresses provide very good service. I assume that Scout was sitting in the private room because of the way he said he had to ask the waitresses to come in. The waitresses who manage the private rooms are especially polite and thoughtful, they only look after the three private rooms and not the main area outside so there really is no way that that waitress was so busy that you were without appetizers and tea for half an hour Because as Samantha said, customarily in Oedo, every single client is served with green tea and free appetizers for dinner when they arrive at the restaurant - even before they order their food.
