The first time I had gyukatsu was in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Of course we ordered the kobekyu katsu set which came with the gyukatsu, rice, miso soup, salad and some side dishes.
The beef came a bit more raw than when I had it in Tokyo, but after heating it up on the hot plate it was just as delicious! The beef was high quality for sure as you can taste the fattiness and melts in you mouth.
We also had to order their signature creamy curry udon as it seems to be one of their other popular items. I’d imagine it is because the bowl of noodles comes with a whole layer of white cream on top and is great for taking photos with. This also definitely made the curry sauce a lot of smooth and creamy!
We ordered the honey butter chicken wings from the side menu. This is was stand out dish for me because I wasn’t expecting much from it. But the balance of flavour for some really well and I seriously considered ordering another plate!
