Finally made it to this hyped family style Cantonese restaurant after the 2-month wait. I had super high expectation given the wait and the fame and overall, I am not disappointed😉𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲 香煎蓮藕餅First up was some snack. Very delicious despite I personally thought the coriander is a bit overpowering. But I really loved the ratio of lotus root and fatty meat. Btw, I eat coriander but not a big fan at all. This was impeccably executed. This was my first time having both paste and whole prawn too🍤 Usually restaurant would opt for either one but never the both. But now, I wonder why they never do it? This was so obvious. You get the flavour and the texture this way. Genius and delicious🤓Swipe to look at the perfect intersection!

MIND BLOWN DISH🤯 This was not only the best dish of the night, but the best version I have ever eaten. It had every box checked to formulate a magical moment in your palate. The fatty ma yau fish (thread fin in Cantonese) was fresh and sweet. The chicken oil and yellow wine concoction was flawless that it enhanced the fish to a whole new level. The cured ham was a nice final touch to give some last savoury sensation. For this dish alone, the wait was worthy already😳

One of their famous dishes here. The smokiness💨 was spectacular. It was not on the nose but on the palate which showed their cooking technique that they could really infuse the flavour to the meat instead of just staging a smoke show. The innards were my favourite that they handled it so well without any unpleasant organ taste.

Normally, you would expect more greens than the meats or seafoods for this dish. But here you have a 1:1 ratio generously (tho I preferred some more green for a more balanced flavour). The chive flowers were so delicious. The crunchy and crispy texture with its unique flavour was impeccable. While the dried seafoods were very high quality which surprised me the most. You would need a beer for this dish🍻

The replaced sparerib with pork belly roll but I preferred the traditional one more. It was kinda gimmicky but it could not make the two elements: sweet and sour sauce and the pork belly cut shine in this combo.

This giant baked rice is a must order here. The taste was not bad with many boxes ticked. Definitely an above average one. But perhaps my expectation was too high, I didn’t find it special. Having said that, I would still recommend you to get one for your first time to join the herd🙋🏻‍♂️

The pumpkin soup was good. Just that I am not a big fan of Chinese dessert😂
