Once you walk into this little cafe, it’s almost like you’ve been transported to an absolutely different place.

For our first visit, we went as a trio with the intention of finding the best coffee in Hong Kong. As an Aussie living in Hong Kong, I have to admit it’s very difficult for me to get my coffee fix (is Aussies are very blessed to have AMAZING coffee back home.) Without further blabbering on why we decided to go on this expedition, let’s talk about this gem of a cafe and it’s food!

The interior was small but not “restrictive”. It was actually quite comfortable. I loved all the different lampshades, the contrast is super cute and funny enough, didn’t feel “out of place” at all. Instead, it gave the place a bit of a “wonderland” atmosphere. I was silly enough to forget my phone, luckily my friends had theirs and were kind enough to let me borrow their phones to take photos.

Here you order via your phone by scanning their menu QR code so don’t do what I did - remember to bring your phone!!

Olive Oil Fed Pork Belly with Baby Asparagus $163

The skin of the pork belly was not crunchy (which I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed when I saw it) but when I took the first bite, I was pleasantly surprised! Super tender, super juicy! It was beyond my expectations! Definitely something you’d expect from a fine dining restaurant and not a small cafe. The price tag definitely made it even more irresistible.

Baked Hake Filet in Mornay Sauce, served on a bed of masked potato with spinach and carrots $143

The fish was good and the mashed potato was AMAZING. I would totally order this again just to have the mashed potato. That was how good it was. The flavour was very “Japanese” - very similar to the Japanese potato salad ピタとサラダ🥗. Flavours were great, not too salty and surprisingly, enough acid! The use of lemon juice was definitely noticeable and lifted the dish.

Parisian Chocolate +$5 with any set lunch. Again, need I say more? So yes? I was suppose to have a coffee but who could say no to Parisian Chocolate? (I could next time, I promise next time I’ll definitely go for a coffee 😂)

Champs-Elysée Big Breakfast $108

Of the all times I’ve been to France I’ve never actually had a “Champs-Elysée Big Breakfast”. The scrambled eggs were beautiful and the entire breakfast was beautifully presented.

Even though I can’t say the food is authentically French, the food and atmosphere is definitely amazing - très exceptionnel as the French would say, it is definitely a lovely spot to hang out in, to catch up over coffee or just to have a lovely meal when life gets too busy and you’re looking for an escape in the middle of this beautiful and bustling city.
