Standard crowded Friday night at the Pizza Project, where we were told that our table of two would be available in 25-35 minutes. Totally understand and expected a wait, but abysmal line-up policy. Heard the receptionist call a guest twice, no answer, and she proceeded to let tables before us in. 20 minutes later that same guest turns up, says she never got the text or call. Receptionist blatantly lets her in, pushing us and another group behind the queue again. A table of 3 who also arrived aft
Once we were finally in, turns out we were seated outdoors, in 32 degree heat and humidity. Provided feedback to the manager who said it was first come first serve. Seemed like they didn’t understand that if someone comes back 20 minutes late, they should queue again and not jump the queue (regardless of whether the customer left the wrong number, or the restaurant recorded it wrongly)
Pizzas and starters up to standard, grateful for polite service who acknowledged the problem, but would definitely suggest them having a better queueing system and let people know before they’re seated if it’s going to be outdoors!
Highly recommend the carbonara and nouja pizzas. Tasting menu is great value and the tiramisu is delicious.
