The highlight of the stay was the dinner at Café Causette, the food was very good thank to the chefs but an equally big part was played big our server Jacky Wong. He was very attentive to all our request, such as putting the watermelon aside from the prawn salad, and changing the desert to accommodate our dietary needs (set menu desert was changed to fruits and crème brûlée).Originally, my mother decided to change her desert from the set menu's pana cotta so that my sister, who was having in
Originally, my mother decided to change her desert from the set menu's pana cotta so that my sister, who was having in-room dining so she could also try the crème brûlée. To our surprise, Jacky offered an additional crème brûlée without having to change the desert, and kindly arranged for it to be brought it up to our room so my sister could try it. Within 10 minutes she send a phot showing she had received the crème brûlée.
The other dishes were good such as the parma ham starter that thick slices of parma ham ( not too dry and not too salty), and the Iberico pork chop was juicy, tender and aromatic (wok hay).
The breakfast at Café Causette was more mediocre. Their french toast looked so good in pictures so my expectations were high. Although the french toast looked good, it was BLAND. I don't understand how it good have colour when it tasted so little of something - not even much of an egg flavour?!
Is it too much to ask for a nice homey cinnamon french toast?
The western breakfast was fine, but I think most of it is down to good ingredients rather than chef's skill.
I have heard the Chinese breakfast is pretty bland, and it doesn't look good in pictures so I didn't even bother to order it.
Overall I wouldn't come for the breakfast, and maybe I would re-consider coming back for dinner.
