The squid was fresh and lightly battered, good to go with the beer.

The ribs were chopped to a moderate bite size and with much meat attached. The sauce was of the appropriate thickness and sourness too. Very value for money.

c) Pork Bone Soup in Pot招牌豬骨煲($128) – 9/10

Other than the rice in clay pot, this dish almost appeared on every table for a group of 4 people or more. Yes, you would better be in a company of a larger group because the portion was quite large and also came with a small basket of lettuce. Large chunks of pork bones were cooked for hours before transferring to the pot. The soup was tasty as it contained black pepper, Chinese celery, white radish, corn and dried bean curd sheets, etc. A very good source of collagen.

They use both charcoal and gas in cooking the rice. An array of clay pots were placed above the charcoal to keep them warm. When an order was placed, the chef will cook the rice on gas stove.

The rice was just cooked perfectly, dry enough and yet thoroughly cooked. The highlight of the rice was the crunchy burnt bottom which could be lifted with a table spoon.

There are lots of meats that you can order as toppings on the rice. This chicken with preserved Chinese sausages was another popular one.
