The first time we ate at Taiwan Bowl, it was only one shop in Cheung Sha Wan. It served basic Taiwanese style rice with mince meat or deep fried chicken or pork chop. We liked it enough but never did return as we didn't live near there. Lo and behold, while walking around Tseung Kwan O, we found another branch. It seems they've expanded since then! And so has their menu.They now have a different menu with an item that appeared to be like personal hot pot.The other menu is in the form of a check

The other menu is in the form of a check off piece of paper. They offer rice bowls and a series of small dishes so you can create your own set. Menu is in Chinese only. There is no English and no 10% service charge. All come with a standard drink with possible options for upgrades.
I decided to do the create your own set. You have a choice of appetizer and main. Then you can have rice or add a bit of money for noodles. And you get a bowl of soup and a drink. All for $59. I chose soy sauce marinaded chicken wings and popcorn chicken. The chicken wings were ok. Not over cooked and seasoned well. The popcorn chicken was a bit dry and bland. Then we realized we could get seasoning upon request but we had already finished eating by that time. The stir in noodles with mince meat was ok. It had enough sauce though I felt the mince meat was a bit too salty. The soup was very salty but I did like the pork balls in it.
Boyfriend decided to do the one person only hot pot and choose beef ($68). It came with a bowl of rice with mince meat on it. He had a choice of soup base and chose sacha. It wasn't too spicy. Portion was generous with lots of cabbage and strips of beef. The beef was pretty soft and tender. There were also pork balls, mushrooms and beancurd.
Food was filling. Taste was ok. Nothing really to complain about. A good fast and casual option for dinner.
