Christmas is in the air! The Peninsula has always been a mysteriously alluring place to me. There's always a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" vibe about this lovely architecture... So since it's Christmas, let's treat ourselves to a decadent afternoon tea experience at the Lobby!The exterior of the hotel was decorated with Christmas lightings. There was a gigantic Xmas tree in the hotel lobby. Hmm, the ambience was touched up real Christmas-sy.First, let's talk about the scones. They were warm, buttery.

The exterior of the hotel was decorated with Christmas lightings. There was a gigantic Xmas tree in the hotel lobby. Hmm, the ambience was touched up real Christmas-sy.
First, let's talk about the scones. They were warm, buttery. The jam was quite nice (not as nice as that in The Mandarin Oriental), but they could have come in bigger portion.
The savouries were quite nice! I discover that most of the time, the sandwiches in these afternoon tea sets tend to be a little too moist (probably because they were prepared in advanced and the juice of the fillings soaked the bread) and this time it was the same case, so a little bit disappointing.
For the dessert, oh my god, the macarons were like cute little reindeers, and other desserts were made like tiny Xmas trees and with other Xmas elements. These were the perfect ending.
Sip a cup of black tea, and mademoiselle, a perfect afternoon was what you just had.
