Went to Ruths' last night to celebrate my honey's birthday. I made a reservation a few days ago and ask if there will be any special for the birthday boy. The girl said there will be a surprise dessert for him and asked for his name. On the day, they re-confirmed the booking and when we got there, a guy dude came and served us for that evening. He was very helpful and recommended different options for us. We ended up ordering the following:1 large Caesar Salad1 12o New York fillet1 12o US Ribeye

1 large Caesar Salad
1 12o New York fillet
1 12o US Ribeye
1 mashed potato
1 creamed spinach
2 glasses of Cab Sav red wine
All of the above were really nice. The salad was very very fresh. both steak were made just right (we ordered med. rare), the mashed potato, very creamy and smooth, the spinach was ok, i think the mashed potato is nicer and the red wine, very nice and easy to drink. After the meal, I had to head to the toilet. As i had twisted my ankle the previous day, walking to the far toilet took some time. Accordingly to my honey, the young waiter rushed over as i walked to the toilet and reminded me to be careful of the steps. Very caring. He also asked about the surprise dessert. I told him to defer a bit as we were very very full.
The dessert ended up to be a Bread Pudding with Whiskey sauce. Very yummy too. But we were too full to eat it all.
At the end, the bill came to HK$1370. But i was surprised to see they charged for the "surprise dessert". i think they should have told me when i asked on the telephone. I thought they were nice to free the dessert for the birthday boy. But anyway, the overall dinner was excellent. Very yummy and full and the service just great.
