It can incredibly hard to find British classics done well here in Hong Kong, with many of us usually having to settle for close-guesses or stupidly overpriced and overly elaborate versions of the real thing. The Cabin falls into neither of these traps. All of their more classic British fare is cooked perfectly and, more importantly, has the taste and feel of home. On my first visit I had a fisherman's pie - good chunks of fish in a lovely cream sauce (real stuff, no jars of gloop involved) with a nice creamy mash on top. This time I had the burger which was good but a bit drier than I'd have liked. And the chips! Oh the chips - we couldn't resist getting an extra portion.
This is a place that's committed to quality and authenticity in every dish. Recommend to all, especially who miss real chips and some proper pie. Definitely going back!
題外話/補充資料:
Among the classics there are included: Lancashire Hotpot, Fisherman's Pie, Cottage Pie, and Apple Crumble (with homemade custard - none of that packaged stuff). I also HAVE to recommend the Chicken Carbonara Risotto.
