Trying out this insanely popular noodle restaurant has recently opened their second store at Fashion walk! Opened by ex-sous chef at Caprice, this noodle spot has been all over my Instagram lately! — The broth makes use of an abundance of seafood including blue crab meat, Hiroshima oyster, prawn tail and prawn oil to create an incredibly rich seafood soup base. The prawn flavour in the broth is definitely the most prominent and the touch of prawn oil makes it that extra bit more fragrant. Though personally, I thought the broth could’ve been slightly saltier. Portion size is quite decent considering its steep price point. The seafood is slightly overcooked and lacked any seasoning, but the broth does help with flavour. Personally not a fan of thin noodles but its totally understandable why they would go for it because of how well it soaks up the broth and holds onto liquid.
Pic 3️⃣: 蕃茄蛋牛 - $83 hkd 🍅🍳
— Was quite disappointed with this honestly 😢 The broth was unnecessarily sweet to a point that it tasted like syrup! The consistency of the broth is rich and you can tell its full of tomato goodness but simply too sweet. The double boiled ox tongue was also quite underwhelming, there were only 2 small slices and also really lacked flavour.
Overall rating:
😋Taste: Really steep prices for noodles that weren’t extraordinary. Think this place is quite overhyped because of the chef’s culinary background.
